NEWLY elected Prime Minister Anthony Albanese risks becoming a one-term wonder if he continues his blinkered push to net-zero.
At the same time major industrialised nations are reversing their renewables agenda – reverting to more reliable power sources – the Prime Minister and his Minister for Climate Change Chris Bowen have doubled down.

- 61 per cent of respondents say Australia should pause net-zero.
- Germany’s green energy policy used to be held up by the climate luvvies.
- You take away Russian gas, however, and the country’s now in serious trouble.
German Vice-Chancellor Robert Habeck, co-leader of the Greens Party, was the latest to walk back green energy policy.
With Germany’s manufacturing base crippled with power shortages, resulting in Germany’s first trade deficit since 1991, Mr Habeck has announced the re-opening of coal-fired power plants.
WANTING
With a loss of gas supplies from Russia, Germany’s huge renewables infrastructure has been found wanting in its ability to provide industrial-level power needs.
“Coal-fired power plants will have to be used more, instead,” Mr Habeck said.
“That’s bitter, but it’s simply necessary in this situation to lower gas usage.”
He said, like Australia, his government had proposed putting a cap on domestic power use.
“Otherwise, it will be really tight in winter,” he said.
Australia’s Institute of Public Affairs Policy Director Gideon Rozner questioned why Mr Albanese was pursing net-zero when Australia was facing similar problems to Germany.
“IPA did a poll and 61 per cent of respondents said Australia should pause net-zero like Germany, like Britain are doing and like all the other countries who are learning the lesson.
DISAGREE
“Only 17 per cent disagree.
“It’s time Mr Albanese starts listening or he’ll be a one-term prime minister.”
Mr Rozner said Germany had finally realised it had transitioned from reliable energy to no energy.
“This is Germany, the biggest economy in Europe. We used to talk about the German economic miracle, now they’ve been brought to their knees.
“Germany used to be held up by the climate luvvies who said we should decarbonise like them.
“Well it turns out that the only reason that experiment worked to begin with was because they had back-up gas from Russia.
“You take away the gas and the country is in serious trouble.
“Let alone the fact that they can’t keep the lights on, there manufacturing base has completely collapsed.”
Mr Rozner said Germany had experienced a huge reversal in their terms of trade.
“They’ve gone from a €20b monthly surplus to a billion dollar deficit [in June 2022].”PC
Australia needs to slow down its push to net zero and to understand it needs double the amount of renewables given the inefficiency of nature. Then it needs to understand that it needs to store energy to cater for the that inefficiency OR provide Gas/ Coal / Nuclear as a back up to power our Nation into an automated manufacturing center for Asia / Pacific. It also needs to join all the sparsely and remote renewables to the grid and then every 25 years replace and dispose of the old solar and wind equipment. I don’t recall any life cycle cost benefit analysis of all the alternatives for our 1.3% CO2 reduction in CO2?
It also needs to understand that Australia makes up approx 1.3% of the worlds CO2 and until other countries reach 1.3% of the worlds CO2 production we make no difference in the climate.
Forget the Communist countries given their treatment of their people and ideals to control others.
Our Children and Grandchildren will be faced with our reduction in living standards to come from our hell bent aim for net zero CO2.
Minister Bowen obviously is not across the subject of electricity supply, essential baseload grid energy and transmission limitations.
He said that the wind doesn’t always blow but there will always be wind turbines operating somewhere.
Maybe he believes in solar panels overnight as well?
Hey Albo, when you chuck a boomerang at your political opponent watch carefully when it comes back at you.
It’s ironic that Albanese, a marxist on a power trip, is going to be tripped up by a lack of power.
