While I don’t like the Labor Party, the gracious exchanges between Peter Dutton and Anthony Albanese gave me some hope for our democracy. I have never wanted Labor to win so much as I did in the seat of Melbourne.

While I think Labor in their current form are socialist, they are a reflection of the weakness of conservatives in Australia. The Greens, however, are extremists. In my opinion, they have no place in Australian politics.

The good news is that Adam Bandt is gone!

His dirty policy to get Dutton out and direct Labor from minority failed. In the ultimate irony, Bandt lost his seat too.

The strangest thing is that the Greens looked like they were trying to lose. Max Chandler-Mather is also gone. So is another Greens member – Stephen Bates I think his name is – I have no idea who he is or what he did, but he’s out.

The mainstream media is claiming that the Greens lost because of the collapse in the Liberal vote. What nonsense.

It is obvious to all and sundry that antisemitism and being pro-Palestinian were the big election losers for the Greens. But in a bizarre twist of stupidity, the Greens think they should double down on ‘climate, Israel-Palestine, and housing’.

I hope they continue to do that, because it will be the end of them for good.

While the Liberals lost, they can learn a key lesson from the Greens.

Instead, in a bizarre twist, NSW Liberals leader Mark Speakman said:

‘I’m not here to finger-point about the past… I’m determined that at a state level our policy development is rigorous, timely, and firmly grounded in the sensible centre of Australian politics.’

Further, Simon Birmingham wants the Liberal Party to become ‘new and modern’ and ‘embrace gender quotas’. As do Andrew Bragg, Hollie Hughes, and a swag of other wets. Yeah, nah.

In my opinion, the NSW Liberal’s wets share a large portion of the blame for their poor showing this election. While the Nationals’ Michael McCormack and Barnaby Joyce and the Liberal’s Angus Taylor (among others) increased their margins, Speakman hasn’t spoken a word for months except to now come out in support of the wets.

Meanwhile, the leftist media are already claiming that the Liberals need to move away from the Nationals and abandon nuclear energy. Never mind that the Nationals remain strong or what just happened in Spain and Portugal. Apparently, nuclear energy is already dead in the water.

It pains me to say it, but the Liberal Party has lost its way. It has gone the way of the United Australia Party (the real one, not that modern remnant of Clive Palmer’s political lawn bowls). Menzies’ efforts to unite the non-labour groups has been all but undone by the wets.

The good news is that Albo and Chalmers now get to own it all. So, when our economy and our national security get smashed in the next three years, all the blame goes to Labor.

But the really good news is that Adam Bandt is gone and Senator Mehreen Faruqi has been re-elected in NSW. Hopefully, she will become the Greens’ leader. Her vision for the party will ensure the Greens go away. Forever.

Thanks Adam, for the first time ever, you made my day. Bye, Felicia!
