King Charles III has been careful to remain out of the political mud-slinging disaster of UK politics.
Well, aside from his unwise devotion to Climate Change ideology peddled by international socialists.
However, there is no mistake about this morning’s decision to welcome Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy to Sandringham House and then post a photo of the two shaking hands to the official Royal Family X account.
When it comes to royalty, an image speaks volumes. One of the few times the late Queen Elizabeth II intervened was when she allowed herself to be photographed dancing with President Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana in the 1960s.

The King’s meeting with Zelenskyy took place as a consequence of the disastrous White House press conference between US President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and President Zelenskyy.
The leaders of Europe and the Western world took to X immediately after the footage went live to pledge their support (and in some cases, the treasuries of their nations) to support the war effort.
Shortly after, Zelenskyy was seen in Europe at a summit where 18 leaders met to convene what UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has called a Coalition of the Willing which collectively agreed to commit troops to the frontline if a (currently non-existent) peace deal is signed.
It follows from the 100 Year Partnership between the UK and Kyiv signed in January, which is rather optimistic considering in half that time Britain may no longer be Christian in which case, it would no longer have a monarchy, or perhaps even a democratic Parliament. Suffice it to say the UK has bigger problems than Ukraine.
Since these meetings, the US has become hostile to Europe, not least because Europe appears ungrateful for decades of US protection from Russian expansionism.
A real low point was the US Secretary of Defence having to make a public commitment of support for Ukraine following the news a company in Norway was allegedly refusing to re-supply US Navy ships.
Norway also confirmed the nation as a whole would supply fuel, with their Defence Minister, Tore Sandvik, stating: ‘We have seen reports raising concerns about support for US Navy vessels in Norway. This is not in line with the Norwegian government’s policy.’
No kidding. Boycotting the US Navy would have to be a pretty idiotic way to strengthen Europe’s defence against Russia, but let’s face it, the world is so used to using boycotts to exert political power they have forgotten that geopolitics is not a beer or a razor.
The passive-aggressive tweets coming out of the White House X accounts suggest the Administration is more than a little bit annoyed at the outpouring of sympathy from Presidents and Prime Ministers who have done precious little to secure European security.
This situation deteriorated when Zelenskyy door-knocked the UK and managed to secure billions of pounds in further assistance despite Keir Starmer being in the process of giving away the nation’s critical strategic base in the Chagos Islands. Domestic observers see a Labour Prime Minister making unkeepable promises from the rubble of a declining empire. How can the man with thousands of foreign actors shouting support for Islamic terror on his streets help secure peace in Ukraine? It is a question moralising politicians and journalists refuse to ask let alone answer.
I made a prediction that America might use their ‘Withdraw from Nato’ wildcard and call Europe’s bluff.
Shortly after, Elon Musk said he agreed with tweet that read: ‘It’s time to leave Nato and the UN.’
At the time, I was sort-of joking. Musk was not.
Was this threat directed at his ocean of social media users, or the flotsam and jetsam of champagne socialists leading their nations toward global war?
President Trump is slashing at Europe with a rusty boxcutter on Truth Social, writing: ‘We should spend less time worrying about Putin, and more time worrying about migrant rape gangs, drug lords, murderers, and people from mental institutions entering our country so we don’t end up like Europe!’
The point of this discussion is that there are few things more political in this world than a selfie with Zelenskyy and it is indisputable that the King is making a political statement by inviting him over for a chat.
It is always a matter of concern when the chief player in a potential third world war is paraded around on the arm of the highest position in the land.
This is not only a matter for the UK, because King Charles is our king too.
Following the meeting, Zelenskyy put up a tweet saying:
‘As a result of these days, we see clear support from Europe. Even more unity, even more willingness to cooperate.
‘Everyone is united on the main issue – for peace to be real, we need real security guarantees. And this is the position of all of Europe – the entire continent. The United Kingdom, the European Union, Turkey.
‘Of course, we understand the importance of America, and we are grateful for all the support we’ve received from the United States. There has not been a day when we haven’t felt gratitude. It’s gratitude for the preservation of our independence – our resilience in Ukraine is based on what our partners are doing for us – and for their own security.
‘What we need is peace, not endless war. And that’s why we say security guarantees are the key to this.’
Demanding security guarantees in front of the press assembled at the White House is exactly what derailed the situation between Zelenskyy and President Trump.
It is hard not to speculate that Zelenskyy has deliberately utilised the hatred European leaders have for Donald Trump as a way to rally sympathy-outrage-based support for his security demands which they were previously unwilling to give.
Did Zelenskyy have any intention of signing a deal with Trump, or was the failed press conference the whole point of the trip?
Zelenskyy is not stupid and it seems Europe has been swindled thanks to their Achilles’ heel of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
European leaders are keen to attend summits and talks – anything to focus attention on foreign threats rather than the domestic turmoil in their countries caused entirely by political negligence. Like so many fools in power, they believe war, or the threat of war, can save their political careers.
Still, did our King wade into politics?
Why did King Charles remain silent on so many desperate issues destroying the lives of millions of British citizens, not least of which being the ruthless destruction of British culture at the hands of social justice vandals? Were they not worth the risk?
Surely the King should be more careful taking a stand on an issue that is likely to upset America at a time when the UK has never needed America’s protection and economic partnership more…
In my opinion, it is extremely foolish and short-sighted of the King to play his cards this way.
What do you think?
