TEN truths have emerged from the Wuhan virus, truths which should have always guided our leaders. Most became obvious soon after its arrival. And as they emerged, most were noted here. Not that I am especially gifted as some sort of prophet. All anyone had to do was to rely on two things, as so many readers do.
NSW Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant has made an impassioned plea for people to be truthful with contact tracers after the Premier said the “vast majority” of Sydney’s 50 new CCP virus cases were being obstructive. “We know that everyone is human and makes poor decisions at certain times, but please don’t compound that initial mistake by not telling us the truth the first time,” Dr Chant said.
MANY in NSW were taken aback by “liberal” Premier Gladys Berejiklian’s decision to strap us all in for a lockdown as a result of a few dozen positive COVID tests and, as usual, no deaths. Even more were confounded by the lockdown extension leaked on Tuesday and announced on Wednesday, with its forced incarceration of school students, the promise of further and tougher restrictions on freedom, and, worst of all, the foreshadowing of a “COVID Plan” for the State.
THE current NSW lockdown has less to do with protecting us than protecting the politicians from the people’s wrath over their manifest incompetence. Everyday on which the Marxist-manufactured Wuhan virus is allowed to dominate our life, the closer we lurch towards dictatorship, with reports the police are already harassing law-abiders relaxing by the beach.
NSW Premier Berejiklian is just like all the rest of them, perhaps even worse because of the now-dashed hope that she engendered that NSW would remain the smart COVID State…
THE Deep State of NSW is getting deeper by the day. And it seems those in power are not even trying to hide it. In what should now be called the COVID State – new number plates are clearly needed between the Murray and the Tweed – the political class is tightening the screws and turning up the dial.
PRIME Minister Scott Morrison is sometimes unkindly labelled “Scotty from Marketing” in reference to his earlier career. But his – and Australia’s – ability to “sell” a reputation for excellence in COVID management has suddenly taken a dive. Mind you, Australia’s acquisition of this reputation for “pandemic management” has always been somewhat of a mystery.
UNTIL recently the sanity of anyone suggesting that the Wuhan virus could have come from a laboratory was put in issue … it is fascinating when reality catches up.
HOW long will Australians tolerate politicians abusing their powers, while under-performing in so many areas under their responsibility, such as education? We live under a constitution based on the eternal rule that power tends to corrupt. An increasing number of Australians suspect the Wuhan virus is being used to create fear and thus an acceptance of draconian solutions used to win elections and even to maintain opinion polling ratings.
THERE used to be a statutory office whose very name struck terror into the hearts of those who feared for their sanity, now or in the future. This was the Master in Lunacy. Threats were frequently made that “men in white coats” were ready to take anyone away for behaviour or even comment judged irrational. We may well wonder what the Master would think of those who govern us today.
