Vic Libs snatch control from Party radicals

by SEAN BURKE – VICTORIA’S Liberal Party has backtracked on its own insane Leftist agenda and installed a centre-Right leader who has pledged support for Peter Dutton.

Newly installed Victorian Liberal leader Brad Battin has pledged to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Federal Opposition Leader in support of conservative policies.

I will return the old Liberal Party we used to talk about – aspirational voters who work hard and want reward for effort. They are the ones who have been neglected the most.

In an interview with The Weekend Australian newspaper, Mr Battin said he admired Mr Dutton for his strong policy positions.

“Peter Dutton is decisive. He goes through a process, makes a decision and then sticks to that decision,” Mr Battin said.

RESPECT

“He’s articulate in defending his position when he has to. I think people respect that. I know I do.”

Mr Battin, who shares a pre-political police career with Mr Dutton, said he was looking forward to campaigning with the federal leader.

“I definitely share similarities with him,” he said.

“The values we both hold resonate with people.

“It’s the old Liberal Party we used to talk about – aspirational voters who work hard and want reward for effort.

“They are the ones who have been neglected the most.”

Mr Battin said being a police officer was ideal preparation for political leadership.

“One of the greatest things you learn from policing is real-life experiences,” he said.

“You have to be willing to make decisions and it toughens you up – you have to have a thick skin.”

He said he didn’t consider himself to be a Right-wing conservative – but a politician with strong family values and a true believer in Liberal ideals.

“It might suit an argument for someone trying to paint you into a position, but from where I come from I have family values – and a conservative economics background,” he said.

Mr Battin said he was not overly religious. “I was baptised at 14 and went back to my local church recently for the first time in many years,” he said.

“I am not a religious person. We don’t have a religious family but we have family values that we all share.” PC

  1. Well done Victoria! We in NSW had to elect a Labor Premier to get back to those values and as an extension – the best interests of the state.
