FORMER NSW premier Bob Carr and his fellow abusers simply do not understand the facts about opposition to COVID vaccines.
I once thought that the rabid pro-vaxxers abused the unvaccinated (stupid, selfish, ignorant, free riders, conspiracy theorists, unsafe, granny killers) because they refused to “play ball” in the protection (as they see it) of the community.
- Conservatives are more likely than socialists to refuse the jab.
- They are abused by men and women of the Left, for whom insulting their 'class inferiors' comes naturally.
- As a China cheer leader, Carr probably doesn’t care too much about human rights anymore.
Now I suspect I had it the wrong way around.
Maybe the vaccines are endlessly championed, despite their manifest shortcomings (unsafe, unapproved, experimental, useless, not needed by most, dangerous for many) in order for our superiors to feel justified in abusing a group that they despise already and wish to pillory.
DEPLORABLES
Conservatives are more likely than socialists to refuse the jab. Yes, we are in the territory of deplorables here.
Who are the abusers? There are the usual suspects among the pro-vaccine corporate media, which lives off the proceeds of advertising by Big Pharma and which routinely and unashamedly propagandises on its behalf. Just look at the health “advice” at the bottom of any article you see on the pseudo-pandemic.
Then there are the third-rate academics who seek to argue in high-falutin ways but invariably resort to assertion and ad hominem attacks.
Then there are the politicians who have never lost the urge to get their names in print.
Bob Carr, aka Beijing Bob, or the sneering professor, has joined a long list of mainly Labor politicians insulting the nearly one quarter of Australian adults who have refused the COVID jab. (Yes, the number of unvaccinated are far greater than is commonly depicted).
The holier-than-thous also include Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, NZ PM Jacinda Ardern, WA Premier Mark McGowan and former British Labor PM Tony Blair, now a knight of the realm.
Some of these are the very people who have instituted the medical apartheid they appear to savour. Combining wickedness, unthinking policy with searing arrogance. Adding insult to injury, literally.
Andrews is happy to exclude the unvaccinated from the economy: “We’ve got everybody locked down. We’re going to move to a situation where we’re going to lock out people who are not vaccinated.”
Moreover, drawing a comparison between NSW and Victoria, Mr Andrews said he did not understand why the northern State decided to axe restrictions for the unvaccinated on December 1.
“That doesn’t make any sense to me in any event and we won’t be doing that here,” he said.
Western Australia’s Mark McGowan, a very peculiar man, had this to say: “Premier McGowan has strongly condemned recent anti-vax protests in WA and declared they were ‘verging on urban terrorism’.”
And this: “It’s demented, it’s deranged, it’s outrageous, it’s selfish. I just urge these people to stop harassing kids at their schools or shopping centres. It’s not the Australian way.
“It’s not going to change the government’s position on these things one jot. In fact, it’s making us harden our position. The more they do this, the more we’re going to ensure Western Australians will get vaccinated.”
TERRORIST
Distinguished legal scholar Professor Augusto Zimmermann an urban terrorist? The (possibly) unvaxxed protesters, McGowan called “demented”. “Extremists”, chirruped one of his ministers. Clearly, we cannot have democracy during a pseudo-pandemic.
A smirking Ardern, falsely asserting that the unvaccinated are “unsafe” and content with having created a two-tier society.
“If you want summer, if you want to go to bars and restaurants, get vaccinated,” Ardern said. “If you want to get a haircut, get vaccinated. If you want to go to a concert or a festival, get vaccinated. If you want to go to a gym or sports event, get vaccinated. If you’re not vaccinated, there will be everyday things you miss out on.”
Sir Tony Blair: “Frankly, if you’re not vaccinated at the moment and you’re eligible and you’ve got no health reason for not being vaccinated, you’re not just irresponsible, I mean you’re an idiot.”
Mark Shaw notes in response: “Are sceptical patients idiots? Are cautious people, including parents of young children, who have diligently assessed their risk profiles, done their own research, and shunned all the coercion, ‘idiots’?”
Note that all the abusers are men and women of the Left, for whom insulting their class inferiors now (strangely, perhaps) comes naturally.
Like all the others, Bob Carr is a friend of Big Pharma and a bully who insults his fellow citizens without the slightest evidence to support his vitriolic wafer-thin, science-free stance.
He is a low-information mouthpiece for global elites. And to think that he once claimed to represent the ordinary people.
Now he represents those who seek to crush ordinary people. Especially those who do not do as they are told by the State.
In December, when joining a small band of bullies advocating the Singaporean system whereby the unvaccinated are denied free medical facilities, Carr referred to the unvaccinated as “simpletons who believe rubbish on the web, and ignore medical advice”.
Interestingly, in a study by Carnegie Mellon University that Carr has probably not seen or heard of, it found, in relation to the education attainment of the non-vaxxed: “the highest hesitancy was among those holding a PhD.”
Not all simpletons, then. Carr and his fellow abusers simply do not understand a whole range of facts about opposition to the jab and the varying, genuinely held motivations for it, nor do they comprehend a raft of relevant distinctions.
BASIC
Like that between anti-vaxxers and those against vaccine mandates. Or that between those who support vaccines but recognise the fact that the COVID vaccine isn’t a vaccine as normally understood.
What about ignoring medical advice? Carr seems not to have comprehended the basic medical science involved in this debate. And him, with aspirations to being a university man.
Carr has become a shill for vaccine manufacturers and associated clueless governments who (still) do not have the remotest idea how to deal sanely and humanely with a spreading virus.
All they care for is power and, knowingly or not, doing the bidding of globo-cap elites (as CJ Hopkins terms the new normal system).
Carr is one of those latecomer academics who do not have a PhD, whose attraction to the university sector was not his history of scholarship or academic skill-set but rather his assumed ability to attract funds through his connections.
A real scholar interested in the phenomenon of vaccine avoidance and in the “science” might have noticed the emerging, compelling evidence that the so-called “pandemic of the unvaccinated” – to which Carr and his fellows seem to subscribe – is built on quicksand.
Here is a small sampling of recent developments, all of which demonstrate that the vaccines do not work and that, therefore those who refuse them are the smart ones in the room.
- 58 per cent of Omicron cases in Germany are vaccinated;
- The heavily vaccinated Icelandic parliament has been hit with a wave of Corona infections;
- Up to 40 per cent of Omicron hospital admissions are unvaccinated adults in the UK, meaning that 60 per cent are vaccinated;
- Two doses of a COVID vaccine are not enough to stop you catching the Omicron variant, UK scientists have warned;
- Omicron can hit fully vaccinated, Oxford study says;
- With the emergence of an alleged new variant that the UK Health Secretary Sajid Javid said “may evade the current vaccines”, despite also saying “that is why you should get your boosters” in the same sentence;
- A regular UK government report reveals that there were 833,332 recorded COVID-19 cases, 9094 COVID-19 hospitalisations and 3700 COVID-19 deaths from October 25 to November 21. Of these the unvaccinated accounted for 39 per cent of all cases, 34 per cent of all hospitalisations, and 19 per cent of all deaths. Whilst the vaccinated accounted for 61 per cent of all cases, 66 per cent of all hospitalisations, and 81 per cent of all deaths;
- Omicron may require a fourth vaccine dose sooner than expected, Pfizer says;
- As UK sociologist Noah Carl notes, when the vaccine rollout got underway, some scientists argued that mass vaccination would set up an evolutionary selection pressure in favour of vaccine-resistant strains, potentially prolonging the pandemic;
- As Mark Shaw notes, many scientists involved in the COVID vaccine manufacture have stated that they were never designed to end transmission and this has now become clear for all to see;
- COVID case rates are highest in the most vaccinated US States;
- As Will Jones notes, the last two weeks have brought three new studies finding negative efficacy for two vaccine doses, meaning the vaccinated are more likely to be infected than the unvaccinated.
But the money shot comes from official UK data, reported by Will Jones: “According to early data published recently by the ONS [the UK statistics agency], the triple-vaccinated are 4.5 times as likely to test positive for a probable Omicron infection than the unvaccinated. The double-vaccinated, meanwhile, are 2.3 times as likely to have a probable Omicron infection.”
Someone please tell Bob Carr. Or Sir Tony Blair.
IDEOLOGUES
Omicron is a pandemic of the vaccinated. Yet the vaccine ideologues only ever double down in the face of a wall of evidence that shows their faith was in vain.
Those who cling to the false belief that the unvaccinated are dumb should read more widely, ponder their lies and, from now on, keep their mouths firmly shut.
They are simply spreading, to use one of their favourite words, “misinformation”. I would guess that their endless retreat to ad hominem attacks on the unjabbed is simply cover for the paucity of their arguments.
So, looking at the actual evidence in relation to the effectiveness of vaccines, especially against Omicron, the vaccine killer, suggests that it is not the unvaccinated who are the simpletons here, Bob. Blind support for the bio-fascist State does not equate to intelligence, knowledge or perception.
What of Bob Carr’s general credibility? Despite the length of his political tenure, Carr was an undistinguished Premier.
He achieving nothing of substance, save for creating a gazillion national parks and keeping the Liberals in opposition for a decade.
He allowed his treasurer to obsess over credit ratings and built not a jot of much needed infrastructure. No rail, no roads, no economic development bar the Sydney Olympics, just whinging about immigration.
He was no Bob the Builder. Alas, NSW virtually died on his watch.
He stood by while his ministers shut down basic services (like regional train lines and services) in the name of NSW Treasury’s pet neoliberal economic theories.
He oversaw the continued dumbing down of the NSW education system and its pivot to ideology.
LEGACY
He strode the parliament with arrogance and ersatz gravitas, but little else. His legacy is wafer thin, or “shaky”, as Crikey noted in 2005.
Then Carr got the call from Julia Gillard, now running a eugenicist outfit in the UK (The Wellcome Trust).
Carr was shoe-horned into Canberra without the remotest democratic process then made Foreign Affairs Minister without being elected to Parliament, and left the Parliament as soon as Rudd had electorally succumbed to the forceful blow torch applied by Tony Abbott (in 2013).
An astonishing tenure. At least it allowed him the strut around Davos.
Naturally as a man of the Left, he was parachuted into a university – as a full professor, no less. Not as an adjunct – the normal way universities use well known people to suck up to philanthropists – but as a paid academic.
His calling? To run a pro-China think tank (the Australia China Relations Institute, 2014-19) set up to sugar-coat one of the most brutal regimes in history as it sets out to take over the world. A task that is now all but complete.
ACRI has had its trenchant critics, as The New Daily has reported: “Dr James Leibold, a China expert at La Trobe University, believes ACRI presents a great reputational risk to UTS [University of Technology Sydney, which employs Carr], telling The New Daily it has shattered its credibility beyond repair.
“Dr Leibold levelled much of the blame on ACRI’s founding chairman Huang Xiangmo, a Communist Party-linked billionaire businessman barred from entering Australia over foreign influence concerns.
“To get ACRI off the ground, Mr Huang, who founded the Chinese property development company Yuhu, donated almost $1.8m in three annual instalments of $588,000, beginning in 2014.
He is also said to have paid some of Sam Dastyari’s legal bills: “Professor John Fitzgerald, a China expert at Swinburne University, said ACRI is ‘damaging to rational public debate about an important bilateral relationship – one that Australia urgently needs to get right.
DENYING
“[Bob] Carr set the agenda and tone for the institute. Whatever the topic under discussion in Australia … Carr invariably reverted to the same script in denying problems on the Chinese side while simultaneously criticising Australians who saw any problems on the other,” Professor Fitzgerald told The New Daily.
“That kind of biased commentary and name calling belongs in Party politics, not universities.”
Of course, our universities are hopelessly compromised when it comes to China. Leibold notes: “Nearly a fifth of higher education revenue comes from full-fee paying students, with overseas Chinese students contributing the lion’s share.
“Universities are also looking to China for new sources of research income. Yet the sector’s growing dependency on the Chinese market could cloud the judgement of senior university administrators.”
Anyone in any doubt about China’s tentacles and their grip on Australian institutions and infrastructure should consult Clive Hamilton’s work, in particular Silent Invasion.
Carr has moved on from ACRI, and is now an Industry Professor (Business & Climate Change). What else? Not to mention Deputy Vice Chancellor Research. Not bad going for a non-academic.
As the University bio notes: “The Hon Bob Carr is Industry Professor (Business & Climate Change) at UTS, where his deep understanding of the climate change policy landscape, both in Australia and internationally, and his extensive industry networks, are helping translate UTS’s climate change expertise into real world impact.”
MONEY
In other words, he is well-connected and will bring the university lots of money. Summing up Carr’s time at the university, Australian Financial Review notes: “In times past, Carr was not known for promoting or defending China’s Communist Party (CCP) government. To the contrary, as Clive Hamilton notes, he was at one time publicly critical of Australia’s pro-China lobby, and denounced CCP ideology as a ‘ludicrously outdated notion’.
“All this changed with his appointment to head the Australia China Relations Institute at UTS in 2014. Since then he has come to personify the lobby he once attacked, lauding the achievements of Xi Jinping and condemning his critics.
“ACRI has provided Carr with the public platform he lost with the end of his brief tenure as foreign minister and again he has a strong media presence.”
As Australia’s defence position daily grows more precarious, with China correctly seen as our biggest security threat, we have Carr and his ilk to thank for a long process, aided and abetted by all sorts from Sam Dastyari to Andrew Robb, that has seen China insinuate itself into the core economies of its vassal States.
TAINTED
But Carr is not content to leave his damaging interventions to the defence of China. The same China that has visited the COVID virus upon the world, leaked most likely from a laboratory that was supported with Anthony Fauci’s tainted money and spread gleefully worldwide with the likes of Bill Gates, the China and Gates-controlled World Health Organisation and other vaccine tsars cheering it on. The connections are deep and broad, indeed.
And Bob Carr is part of this global establishment. From whose height he deems it alright to abuse those who are smart and who follow non-corporate medical advice in exercising their fundamental human rights.
As a cheer leader for China, though, Carr probably doesn’t care too much about human rights. He is utterly compromised by his adherence to globalist ideology, to Chinese interests and to his own material gain.
He is hopelessly ill-equipped to engage in rational debate about vaccines (or much else) let alone to dish out insults against those who have thought about these issues far more than Bob Carr has. He should shut up.PC
This is the first time in history that the failure of a vaccine is being blamed on those who did not get it. Think about that for a minute.
Thanks Paul for keeping us up-to-date and info on Bob Carr. I cannot believe NSW people voted him in for so long but then the people of Qld and WA voted their Labor premiers back in last year also. Anyone would think the voting was rigged. I agree he should ‘shut up’ about China and the virus due to conflict of interests. An old chief said ‘don’t listen to what they say but listen to what they do’ which is Bob Carr – all talk and nothing done.
First class journalism. Thank you Paul
