MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia is on his way back to the United States to face criminal charges, according to ABC News.
A federal grand jury indicted Kilmar Abrego Garcia for “transporting undocumented migrants within the United States,” the outlet reported.
“A two-count indictment, which was filed under seal in federal court in Tennessee last month, alleges Abrego Garcia, 29, participated in a years-long conspiracy to haul undocumented migrants from Texas to the interior of the country, according to sources briefed on the indictment,” ABC News reported.
Kilmar Abrego Garcia is an El Salvadoran national who was illegally residing in Maryland. In 2019, an immigration judge ordered Abrego Garcia, an alleged member of the dangerous MS-13 gang, removed from the US.
Abrego Garcia was initially transported to El Salvador’s notorious CECOT prison, however, last month he was transferred to a lower security prison in San Salvador.
According to a court filing, Kilmar Abrego Garcia was living at Centro Industrial where he had his own fully furnished room rather than a prison cell.
After a fierce court battle over Abrego Garcia’s deportation that went all the way up to the Supreme Court, Abrego Garcia is now being transported back to the Unites States.
This is a breaking story…please check back for updates.
