Democrats Chuck Schumer, Bernie Sanders, and Tim Walz
As Democrats face the worst polling in a generation, and as their leading voices say insane things like James Carville saying Trump has syphillis, their own strategies say they are ‘screwed’, they are now planning to hold “People’s Town Halls” in competitive Republican districts across the country.
President Trump delivered a resounding victory in November, in a campaign where Trump’s allies pledged to defeat systemic far-left voter fraud by making the margins “too big to rig”, and the defeat has largely left national Democrats confused, floundering, and adrift.
Democrats in 2024 outspent Republicans in the race for the Presidency by over a billion dollars. Harris spent $1.5 billion in 15 weeks, and Biden and Harris combined had spent $2.9 billion, while Trump spent roughly $1.8 billion.
The issues that Democrats think they can win in the upcoming 2026 election cycle on, are, in their words:
“Threats” to Social Security and Medicare
“Cut jobs” for veterans
Health care and food assistance “on the chopping block”
The Trump-Musk agenda as it “wrecks” the economy and “threatens families”
Internal polling by Democrats suggests that these may not be winning issues for them, however, due to trust and credibility issues with their national candidates.
Democrats claim they are “filling a void” with these Town Halls. Far-left Democrat groups like the DailyKos complain that Republicans are “hiding” from constituents and Democrat agitators.
Left-wing activists have long engaged in high-pressure psychological tactics to berate and belittle elected Republicans. The head of the Republican Campaign Committee, Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) advised his colleagues to avoid these kind of public meetings in the near-term because of the risk of agitators.
Democrats nationally say they feel they are going on the ‘offensive’ after losing the election and being blindsided by the flurry of Trump actions the past two months. They are encouraging far-left Senator Bernie Sanders to hold rallies as a way to inspire their base in the same way that Trump was able to do the same for his supporters.
Democrats are also featuring far-left Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz in many of these events, who was the Vice Presidential candidate for Kamala Harris in her historic defeat for the Presidency, after being chosen by party insiders to run replacing Joe Biden after Biden’s years of senility were finally revealed in a disastrous Presidential debate. Walz, age 60, is seen by some as the youthful representative of elected Democrats.
Walz is being sent to two of the Pennsylvania events.
The Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee has announced that they will be holding these upcoming “People’s Town Halls”
Arizona’s 6th Congressional District, represented by Republican Rep. Juan Ciscomani
Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, represented by Republican Rep. Gabe Evans
Florida’s 13th Congressional District, represented by Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna
Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, represented by Republican Rep. Zach Nunn
Michigan’s 10th Congressional District, represented by Republican Rep. John James
Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District, represented by Republican Rep. Ann Wagner
Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District, represented by Republican Rep. Don Bacon
Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District, represented by Republican Rep. Ryan Mackenzie
Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District, represented by Republican Rep. Rob Bresnahan
Unfortunately for Democrats, they appear to have chosen their districts poorly. According to the Cook Political Report, which ranks the perceived ‘competitiveness’ of individual Congressional races, only three of the list were in “Republican Toss-Up” categories, while the rest were in “Leans Republican” and “Likely Republican” categories.
Democrats are spending time working to defeat conservative Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), even though her district appears to be safely and reliably Republican.
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chair Rep. Suzan DelBene claimed in a press release that “these House Republicans are hiding from their own voters to avoid having to defend their disastrous record.”
There are 597 days left until the mid-term 2026 elections on November 3, 2026.
