The modern left-wing governments and people who regard themselves as the modern left are developing a strange attitude towards human life.

In the United States of America, this cavalier attitude towards human life has become obvious when looking at how dispassionate many of the left-wing media and political individuals regarded the two failed assassination attempts on the life of former President and current Presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The media rhetoric referring to Donald Trump as an existential threat to democracy, a dictator, an insurrectionist, and convicted felon facing 93 Federal indictments must have had some impact in encouraging the assassination attempts. The media and Trump’s political rivals, including (but not limited to) Presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris, have not eased up on the rhetoric and have in fact made it even more threatening.

Many prospective Democrat voters were asked about the first assassination attempt and answered with replies such as ‘it’s a shame the would-be assassin missed’, or ‘better luck next time’, and ‘they should keep trying’.

These remarks are outrageous, but when you have been indoctrinated so continuously and so effectively into thinking Trump is the devil incarnate, who can blame them for thinking that way?

If someone had assassinated Adolf Hitler, who was a genuine threat to democracy and a ruthless dictator, would anyone in the world have been upset? Clearly not.

If anyone in the media had asked Kamala Harris, President Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, most other democratic politicians, media personalities or Hollywood elites, ‘Would you have been upset had the assassin’s bullet hit the target and ended Donald Trump’s life?’ What would their answer have been?

If the answer is yes, they would have been upset, the next question is, how can Donald Trump be considered so evil and a threat to democracy? Then their entire political strategy and philosophy would be a disingenuous lie.

If the answer is a no, they would not have been upset, then their true nature would have been laid out bare for all to see and they would be unelectable.

Unfortunately, I suspect the left would not be troubled by an accurate assassin’s bullet, and that is not limited to the American left, but also true to the left in the UK and Australia as well.

This unseemly and barbaric attitude to the sanctity of human life being demonstrated by the modern left is not restricted to Donald Trump’s life.

Somehow in the United States abortion has become an election issue to the extent that it is the only policy Kamala Harris articulates clearly.

Whilst articulating her position Harris never says that the medical procedure referred to as abortion portends the end of a human life.

The life may be ended in the first trimester of a pregnancy, which is the most humane way of achieving the inevitable result, but there is no way to painlessly end the fetus’ life in the second and third trimesters, but that is not a problem to the modern left, because that end result justifies the ideological means.

To camouflage the fact that an infant’s life ends, modern left supporters will suggest that a baby is not a human until it takes its first breath, a fetus is not a human, or that a fetus is some form of parasitic growth. In fact, a Western Australian member of Parliament even compared an abortion to nothing more than pulling out a tooth.

In Australia, abortion is not an election issue as it is legal to have an abortion up until the moment of birth. Therefore, in Australia, there is no reason for the left-wing zealots to show their contempt for infant human life. They still however find a way.

On August 20, 2024, Senator Ralph Babet made an urgent motion in Parliament to protect babies born alive after abortion. The motion read:

‘The need for the Senate to recognise that at least one baby is born alive every seven days following a failed abortion and left to die, and that Australia’s care system is enabling these inhumane deaths; and for the Senate to condemn this practice, noting that babies born alive as a result of a failed abortion deserve care.’

Every Greens Senator, the independent Senator, every Labor Senator and, to their eternal shame, four Liberal Senators voted against the Motion.

The Motion did not seek to interfere with the abortion laws, it only sought to save healthy born babies’ lives.

These infants will continue to be sacrificed on the left’s ideological altar because their lives have no meaning to the modern left.

We are seeing the same thing with the left’s policies relating to climate change, energy, and the environment.

One of the greatest causes of shorter life expectancy is poverty. For example, South Sudan is the poorest country in Africa and its population experiences the shortest life expectancy in the world, at 55 years. The worldwide human life expectancy is 73.3 years. It is even higher than that in developed countries where it is 75 years for men and 82 years for women.

Affordable energy and the products resulting from fossil fuel mining have lifted billions of people out of poverty and into the middle class where food, clothing, shelter, and education are in abundance and available.

The common denominator with all developed countries around the world is access to advanced medical care, especially surgical treatment.

In developed countries, a surgical theatre is full of products that owe their existence to fossil fuels.

From the stainless steel, reusable surgical instruments to the computer monitors which allow the surgeons to see what they are dealing with, and of course the lighting provided by reliable electricity. If the left-wing governments destroy fossil fuel mining, and consequently fossil fuel products, modern-day surgical procedures could well become unavailable. People will suffer and people will die.

Left-wing zealots consider the odd death a small price to pay to save the planet.

The trouble with that philosophy is that the planet does not need saving, because it is not under threat of destruction so people will die for no reason at all other than to uphold an abhorrent ideology.

It would seem that, other than their own survival and ideologically obsessed lives, the modern left political movement is not interested in the reality of preserving the lives of others.
