Trump snubs ‘nasty’ Albanese

by SEAN BURKE – US PRESIDENT Donald Trump has cancelled talks with Anthony Albanese just minutes after the Australian Prime Minister publicly announced the two would meet.

Both leaders were attending a G7 summit in Canada this week, where Mr Albanese was invited as a “plus” attendee.

Whether the PM likes Trump or not is beside the point. The US senses that the Albanese Government is not as serious and committed to the relationship as it should be. That explains why Trump stood up Anthony Albanese.

Mr Albanese had been hoping to confirm Mr Trump’s commitment to the AUKUS security pact, which had been agreed between Scott Morrison, former UK PM Boris Johnson and then US President Joe Biden.

Meetings between G7 leaders and non-G7 leaders are usually arranged for the second day of the summit.

DEPARTED

Mr Trump, however, departed the summit early leaving Mr Albanese behind in Canada.

AUKUS forms the blueprint of Australia’s 21st Century defence planning.

Mr Albanese – and his pick of Kevin Rudd as US Ambassador – have been highly critical of Mr Trump in the past.

Prior to taking the Australian prime ministership, Mr Albanese said President Trump “scared the shit out of me”.

Meanwhile, Mr Rudd called Mr Trump a “destructive president” and a “traitor to the West”.

Mr Trump was aware of the comments and last year said he didn’t know much about Mr Rudd other than he is “a little bit nasty” and “not the brightest bulb”.

Deputy Executive Director of the Institute of Public Affairs Daniel Wild said Mr Albanese couldn’t be taken seriously on the international stage.

“Mr Albanese is not respected,” Mr Wild said.

“There are some within Labor that are actively hostile towards the Trump Administration,” he said.

“Whether you like Trump or not is beside the point. The US is obviously our most important ally and I think there is a sense in the United States that the Albanese Government is not as serious and committed as it should be about the relationship.

“I think that explains why Trump has stood up Anthony Albanese.”

Politcom commenter “Cohenite” said Mr Albanese was an “elitist snob” overseeing the destruction of Australia.

“He personifies how the ALP has completely divorced itself from the blue-collar base,” Cohenite wrote.

“No better example of an inner-city elitist snob could be found than this slobbering little person.

“From his commie roots at Uni – coached by well-known commie lecturer Wheelwright, winning the Tribune’s young commie of the month award and then being mentored when he went straight from Uni to the ALP by their resident commie, Tom Uren – Albo personifies the bubble brained new crowd running the ALP.

“As for Australia, we are about to hit rock bottom. Albo and his fellow inner-city elites have embraced every fake, woke cause.” PC
