Former Department of Government Efficiency head and Trump adviser Elon Musk slammed President Trump’s “ingratitude” after the President expressed disappointment in the former ally on Thursday.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump signaled the end of his friendship with Elon Musk in response to Musk’s thrashing of the Big Beautiful Act and its spending levels.
“Look, Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore,” he told reporters in the Oval Office. “I’m very disappointed because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here,” he said, adding that Musk was mad solely because the bill cuts Biden-era electric vehicle mandates.
Musk attacked Trump shortly after the comments in the Oval Office, criticizing the bill as “big and ugly.” He further said that members of Congress had not even read the bill before passing it “in the dead of night.”
Shortly after his initial response, Musk, who spent hundreds of millions of dollars to support Trump and Republican candidates, took credit for Trump’s 2024 election landslide and Republicans’ victories in House and Senate races.
“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,” Musk said while slamming Trump for “such ingratitude.”
Such ingratitude

Musk’s support surely helped Trump and Republicans in the election, but his claim that Trump would have lost to Kamala Harris is absurd. He’s effectively agreeing with the Democrats that he bought the election for Trump, which is a lie.
It can be recalled that America was already fed up with the historic inflation, record-high illegal border crossings, the collapse of world peace, and everything else that Biden did to our country. Americans were tired of being embarrassed by an incompetent and feeble president and wanted a strong leader to return to the White House.
The cherry on top was Trump’s first debate blowout against Biden in June and the failed attempt on Trump’s life a couple of weeks later, which led the Democrats to install Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee in a panic. And she was perhaps even worse than Biden.
Musk, who supported Ron DeSantis in the Primary election and helped launch his campaign in an X space, did not endorse Trump until after the July 13 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.
If Musk is a kingmaker, as he claims, how did Trump beat DeSantis?
It should also be recalled that Musk supported Joe Biden previously until Tesla got snubbed in Biden’s electric vehicle mandate and failed plans to build electric car charging stations across the country.
This is a developing story.
