President Trump responded to reports of a foiled terrorist attack at the UK’s Royal Air Force Fairford base, where US bombers and troops are currently stationed.
The base has been used by US forces to execute the bombing campaign against Iran.
According to the Telegraph, counterterrorism police are currently investigating whether Iran was behind the plot.
Trump commended the work with Britain to stop the plot, saying that the suspects were under surveillance “for a long time.”
“The arrest in the UK was fantastic. Working with Britain, it was an amazing job. We had them under investigation,” Trump told reporters on Sunday, confirming the reports.
“They were looking to do big damage to our port, and working with the British worked out great.”
“It may have been Scotland Yard. I don’t know. We worked with a lot of them. We had them under view for a long time, and we got them,” he added.

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, British police made several arrests in connection with the plot.
Five suspects were photographed in British police detention after their suspicious vans, which were suspected of carrying chemicals and explosives, were reported traveling toward the air base.
Aerial footage captured by a news helicopter shows an explosive ordnance disposal robot operating near what is believed to be the vans used by the suspected terrorists.
