Sometimes there are moments when One Nation seems a bit over the top. Take for instance NSW One Nation leader Mike Newman’s stunt disrupting question time in the NSW Legislative Assembly. Newman may have been struggling to gain traction with the mainstream media (MSM). Now they can’t get enough of him…

Not so for former Liberal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg. Some think he might be having another tilt at politics, next minute his mug is splashed all over the MSM like he’s just saved humanity from extinction.

Anthony Albanese is adopting a different approach. His government will control social media to protect you from misinformation. Not from claims that you’ll save $275 on your power bill, but from algorithms that make you want to hate on leftists.

Mind you, one masthead reported that NSW Labor doesn’t want Albanese hanging around for the NSW election campaign. Apparently, Labor doorknockers in Sydney are hearing from ordinary folk that Albo is ‘a dickhead’.

Angus Taylor isn’t just fighting Labor, he’s fighting the Wets. Still.

Andrew Hastie went politically off the rails trying to bring Angus undone. Not only did this plan fail, but it seems to have destroyed Hastie’s future leadership chances. For good, in my opinion.

Not to be outdone, the Wets keep trying to white-ant Angus. Any move to resurrect the former Treasurer is not only a distraction from the main game, but it proves the Liberal Party cannot be trusted.

Meanwhile, the current Treasurer is trying to blame everything else except Labor’s spending spree for mortgage stress. Never mind that the RBA has just posted its second biggest ever loss, pushing its negative equity to some $11.3 billion in the red.

Government entities typically pay a dividend to government, as opposed to making a profit like a business. Based on this year’s annual report, the RBA looks unlikely to pay a dividend for the next decade.

It may not be entirely correct to blame the current Treasurer for the RBA’s negative equity. Pandemic-era quantitative bond programs are maturing, which means the RBA is not in good shape. Josh Frydenberg was running the show back then.

On the far left, the Greens are coming undone. All their do-goodie two-shoes stuff and nonsense is coming home to roost like a vegan chicken. Perhaps they will take their keffiyeh-wearing mates and move to Palestine before Greta Thunberg finds a new cosplay cause for them.

So where does that leave us? With One Nation.

Lefties are talking down One Nation’s immigration policy as if our world will collapse unless we keep importing those who refuse to do their share of lifting.

Angus Taylor was playing coy at CPAC because that’s what Liberals do these days. Our Morning Double Shot scribe wrote the other day that he wasn’t a fan of CPAC because Edmund Burke wouldn’t have been invited.

Burke, the father of conservatism, had no time for radical transformation. He preferred the kind of incremental change that let society adjust without breaking. The French Revolution confirmed every suspicion he held, and the Reign of Terror that followed proved him right.

Imagine Burke today. He’d shit himself if he saw the state of France and Britain.

The Uniparty in the UK and Australia have set the ship of state keeling over to the left. Never mind the economic iceberg now in its path.

I wonder if Burke would be a fan of Donald Trump? Mere speculation, but it took a radical conservative to bring the ship of state back to an even keel in the US. Perhaps it will take a former fish and chip shop owner to give Australians a fair suck of the sav.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Inflation is rising and unemployment is on the rise again. House prices are going south, along with housing affordability. Our judiciary appears to be hell-bent on poking holes in the state’s hull.

Tell me again why we need the Uniparty?

Punters keep saying that One Nation is intent on tearing our political institutions down. If these institutions were in good shape, they might be worth saving. Instead, we have political institutions that are sinking us more each day. This can’t go on forever.

The Uniparty got us into this mess. They cannot be trusted to get us out.

I’d rather take a punt on One Nation. If that means jumping ship on the Liberals, they only have themselves to blame.
