Sicko New Jersey Teacher Pleads Guilty After Having 13-Year-Old Student’s Baby, Allegedly Starting Relationship with Student at Just 11 Years Old – Faces Only 5 Years in Prison!

A former New Jersey elementary school teacher has pleaded guilty to charges related to having sex with a child years after giving birth to a child fathered by the 13-year-old victim.

Prosecutors announced 36-year-old Laura Caron entered a plea deal on Thursday that includes only five years in prison. She will also forfeit her teaching license, be prohibited from holding a public job in the future, and be required to register as a sex offender.

According to the Daily Mail, the boy was 13, and Caron was 28 at the time she had his child in 2019. Their relationship started when he was just 11 years old.

In an interview with the Daily Mail last year, the then-19-year-old victim defended Caron, a former college basketball player, arguing he “wasn’t groomed or raped or manipulated by her.”

“I started everything. If it was up to me, she wouldn’t have been in jail. It’s been six or seven years. I’m 19, about to be 20,” the lovestruck teen said, rejecting the allegation that their relationship started when he was 11 as “crazy.”

The woman became close with the victim’s family, and the parents allowed the boy to stay with her overnight on occasion, according to the Daily Mail. Eventually, she became pregnant, but there was no issue until the boy’s father noticed a striking resemblance between Caron’s daughter and his young son.

She continued teaching at the Middle Township Elementary School Number Two in Cape May Court House, New Jersey, but was arrested in January 2025.

“I love her with all my heart. She was there for me and my family,” the teen said in his interview with the outlet.

The Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffery H. Sutherland’s Office said in a Friday Facebook post,

Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland announces a guilty plea in Cape May County Superior Court by Laura Caron, a 36-year old resident of Cape May Court House, New Jersey and former Middle Township teacher.

Caron was initially charged on January 15, 2025, and then indicted on June 17, 2025, as a result of an investigation conducted by detectives from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims

Unit after it was reported Caron had a sexual relationship with a male juvenile victim.

On October 28, 2026, Laura Caron plead guilty to the charge of 2nd degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child with Sexual Conduct. The guilty plea by Caron includes a 5-year sentence in New Jersey State Prison along with forfeiting her teaching license and all future public employment. Before Caron serves her State Prison sentence, she will be evaluated at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center at Avenel for classification to determine whether she is deemed repetitive and/or compulsive which could inpact her sentence.

After Caron’s classification, and after serving her State Prison term, she will also be required to register on the Megan’s Law Offender Registry and subject to Parole Supervision for the rest of her life.

Providing the Avenel evaulation is completed, Caron is scheduled to be sentenced on January 8, 2027 by the Honorable Jeffrey Waldman, J.S.C.

Prosecutor Sutherland would like to thank all the detectives involved in bringing this investigation to a close.

She is due in court again on January 8, 2027, for sentencing.
