Florida Governor Ron DeSantis joined County officials for a press conference on Sunday, following the deadly plane crash in West Palm Beach, just miles from President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

The Learjet 60 plunged straight down to the ground like a missile, The Gateway Pundit reported. All nine on board the plane were killed in the explosion.

Describing the crash as “cataclysmic,” DeSantis told reporters, “It looked like a missile going down. It left a big crater on the side of the road.”

“There was a lot of debris that was spewed as a result of this crash. As of now, we don’t have any reports of anyone who was on the ground apart from the people in the plane who were killed or injured as a result of debris. But the debris was significant, and it went over a pretty significant distance,” he said.

DeSantis said he had spoken to County officials and the Federal Aviation Administration as an investigation into the incident is underway.

“There’s going to be more information that will come out. They’re still doing different things. Obviously, when the FAA people get here, they’re going to be able to get a lot more,” he said.

Palm Beach County Commissioner Joel G. Flores said the residential community was under evacuation with “about 600 people” needing to relocate for the night. He described the area as a “crime scene.”

“Unfortunately, that’s a crime scene,” he said of the site, adding, “They’re investigating that, so the people can’t stay there. We are relocating them to two shelters in the county. They’re in standby.”

He said the impact created a “massive crater” and estimated that the road will be closed for at least 30 days.

County Administrator Joseph Abruzzo said the county will be sending an emergency declaration to Governor DeSantis.

While it is still unclear what caused the crash, chilling audio from the air traffic control radio shows the final seconds before the jet hit the ground.

“We’re descending 8,000 feet — mayday, mayday! We’re descending 10,000 feet per minute,” the pilot shouted.

“Holy f*ck, we’re out of time!” the female crew member shouted as the audio cut off.
