Another day, another security lapse in Labour’s UK.

First, the British Prime Minister was targeted by a text scam, exchanging messages with an impersonator pretending to be Donald J. Trump’s chief of staff, Susie Wiles.

Now, no less than three of his cabinet ministers have had their personal phone numbers published online.

What’s happening in the UK?

Britain’s Defense Secretary apparently has one small national security problem: his personal phone number was sitting online for anyone to find.

Politico reported:

“After checking through a list of Cabinet members, POLITICO found three published on the web, for Streeting, Justice Secretary Alex Norris and Northern Ireland Secretary Chris Bryant. POLITICO is not pointing to where the numbers can be found to avoid further risking security.

All three ministers declined to comment on the record. The reference to Streeting’s number online has since been deleted, and officials are working to remove the other two.”

Cabinet members have secure government devices to conduct business – but having the personal numbers online is still an unacceptable risk.

“Downing Street would not comment on the revelation that Burnham exchanged messages with the [Susie Wiles] impersonator, citing ‘national security’.

[…] British officials initially feared Wiles’ phone had been hacked again. But a White House official said: ‘This incident had nothing to do with the Chief of Staff’s devices being hacked’.”
