President Trump on Friday afternoon announced that his Chief of Staff Susie Wiles will be moved to another role.
Trump Advisor Stephen Miller will now serve as President Trump’s Chief of Staff.
This is the first major ‘Cabinet-rank’ shakeup since the Democrats swept the midterm elections on Tuesday.
“I am pleased to announce that Mr. Stephen Miller, the current Deputy Chief of Staff of the Trump Administration, and one of my most trusted advisors, will become the Chief of Staff starting Monday, November 9, 2026. Susie Wiles, who has done an outstanding job, will be moving over to the Trump Political Operation. I want to thank her for her service as Chief of Staff — She has done a great job! President DONALD J. TRUMP” Trump said on Truth Social.
Susie Wiles released a statement after Trump announced that she will be transitioning to a different role:
“Today is my last day as White House Chief of Staff.”
“Serving President Trump in the White House has been the honor of a lifetime. I’m so proud to have been a part of what we’ve accomplished together from securing our border and cutting taxes to strengthening our economy and putting America First.”
“More than anything, I’m grateful for the extraordinary people I’ve had the privilege of working alongside. While my role may be changing, my commitment to the President and the mission never will.”

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier this week that Susie Wiles was facing pressure to resign as Chief of Staff after the crushing midterm losses.
Wiles was reportedly the leading figure behind Trump’s endorsements of candidates, which Trump himself recently admitted resulted in his “trying to get people in that were people that, frankly, let’s say that I didn’t get along with.” Trump noted during an election night interview that his supporters “didn’t like the candidates, and some of the candidates that I endorsed fought me, and they didn’t like that they fought me.”
