The State washes our hard-earned tax money into every scam under the sun. Things to which we morally object.
- These malevolent goons run the world now.
- Many more of us now know what they do, and how they do it.
- It pretty well explains the rise of One Nation. But we are still losing.
Things to which we have not agreed, nor for which our permission was not even sought. Things not needed and never discussed during an election campaign.
Things that end up costing ten times what we were promised they would cost. Things that will ruin our economy, our landscapes and our communities.
Our current monthly interest bill for Canberra’s debt is $3.5b. Every month. That is the cost to us of paying for all of the other scams.
Scumbags is too kind a description of these people. Advised now by a clueless, feminised Treasury, whose Secretary recently said, in response to a question about CGT and broken promises, well, we have to get the money from somewhere.

STRESSFUL
Since July 1 this year, it all just got even worse. All thanks to the same scumbags in Canberra.
They say that moving house is up there with life’s worst and most stressful experiences.
I know this to be true. Add selling two houses and buying another to the actual move and you move seamlessly towards having the divorce lawyer on speed dial.
In the three years or so since we last did all this, a whole extra tranche of regulation has been added to the burden of conveyancing. And the cost.
There are ID checks, foreign capital gains tax forms, land titles, office identity processes. Waving your passports and driver’s licences at the ever-increasing copper class.
None of this was previously needed. It still isn’t. But since July 1, now there is a requirement to produce a marriage certificate before you can sell, or, I assume, buy.
Not having one to hand, I had to trawl back to the ACT Government for them to dig one out from 45 years ago. At cost, of course.
What moral panic is that about? Stealth selling by devious spouses, perhaps.
And then the final straw. The AML check – anti-money laundering. One of the big issues? I think not.
AMAZING
It wasn’t a problem on June 30, apparently, it is now. And isn’t it amazing how quickly a whole new infrastructure has been created in the month or so since this latest swindle has landed? With all the bullshit to match.
Just look at the website – tyranny with a benign face of “safety”.
There are other examples of the playbook. The NDIS scam. Mates’ rates for a whole new outsourced industry of grifters, etc.
It was John Howard’s dumbo outsourcing of labour market and Centrelink services that made Kevin Rudd’s wife (and many others) a gazillionaire.
Outsourcing remains one of the nation’s greatest ever blunders, all done in the name of “efficiency”.
Accountability has gone out the window. One of the big cases of disastrous unintended consequences of the naïve, neoliberal economic theory so worshipped in the 1980s.
But the aforementioned AML bullshit is also a scam.
It is creating a new industry to police diddly squat, while at the same time costing real estate agents money and time and conveyancers time.
They have to do the work, take the responsibility and bear the costs. Ray White Lismore estimates an annual extra cost of $15k per year for having absorbed the costs of AML compliance. Another blow to our already overburdened businesses.
Then there is the double dipping. Sellers and buyers have to comply and report. But you have to do it twice.
Both the agent and the conveyancer have to go through the process. It is clipping the ticket twice over.
It is just like the COVID jab – not needed and costly. At least, I suppose, this particular scam doesn’t kill people.
This is regulatory strangulation by a thousand cuts. And because you only buy and sell houses every blue moon – unless you are a property flipper, which you won’t be any more thanks, again, to two melons Albo – you will rarely encounter this regulatory creep.
This is how they do it. They hide taxes like the repulsive GST and keep them after they said yhey would ditch them (stamp duty).
And then they recruit private businesses to do their tax collecting and form filling – creating a new scam industry to cream off people’s savings.
Selling Houses Australia? More like selling out Australia.

But is even worse than this. This is a blatant push by the State to garner ever more data on us. Digital ID by a dozen back doors. We will game you and we will have even more means at our disposal to track you. Get more tax out of you. To know every last damned thing you are doing. Eyeballs over everyone.
It’s decidedly not delivering the utilitarian utopia that bureaucrats envisaged.
The greatest happiness for the greatest number? Rather, we have descending upon us the greatest compliance from everyone. Compliance without reward. Compliance with extra pain.
Meantime, we can all rest comfortably in the knowledge that the political class, at least, has the back of the lap dancer class.With Albo, of all people, leading the charge.
