RINO Senator and sore loser, John Cornyn, (R-TX) told reporters on Capitol Hill that he “doesn’t know,” if President Trump is spending money and resources wisely for the 2026 midterm elections.

This comes as hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent on the 2026 Texas Senate race, which has seen record spending.

Cornyn ran for reelection and was forced out of the race when he lost his primary runoff back in May to outstanding Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Since his loss, Cornyn still refuses to endorse Paxton. Cornyn also refuses to fundraise for him.

What a shameful, little man.

The Gateway Pundit caught up to the Senator as he was talking about how the money and resources can be spent to the “greatest effect.”

Senator Cornyn: “It’s not my decision. I don’t know. I think the various groups that are spending money around the country are gonna have to make some decisions as we get closer where that money can be spent to the greatest effect,” Cornyn told TGP.

“I don’t know how long that stream of spending will continue there or in some other places.”

Cornyn then expressed that he is open to money being taken out of the Texas Senate race and be used on other races:

Senator Cornyn: “I think it’s reasonable to say that unless the numbers start changing in Texas, maybe that money would be redirected. Again that’s not my decision.”

So is Cornyn OK with Republicans losing this Senate seat, because he’s not the candidate?

John Cornyn had been a juggernaut in Texas politics for decades, but the once influential figure in Texas GOP Party politics lost his primary runoff to Paxton by 27 points.

Trump endorsed Paxton right before the runoff. GOP primary voters then voiced their desire for change and frustration with the GOP establishment.

Cornyn is one of two senators who lost their reelection so far in the 2026 midterms, the other being Senator Bill Cassidy, R-LA. What if he had won? Would he have behaved differently?

The divide between the old guard of the GOP and President Trump’s Make America Great Again faction has been growing for the past decade, with the old guard’s influence waning on the right.

Trump’s primary endorsement record this cycle has solidified his grip on the GOP. Former giants like John Cornyn have finally fallen as the party takes a brand-new direction for the future.
