Corie Walsh charged with the murder of her 2-year-old son Barrett “Bear” Walsh
The attorney for the Illinois woman charged with the murder of her 2-year-old son is now claiming the mother had a ‘psychotic episode.’
As previously reported, a 2-year-old child was found unresponsive in the basement of a Frankfort, Illinois, home on Tuesday. The child was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
A neighbor found the toddler hanging from the basement rafter.
The mother, Corie Walsh, 40, was charged with murder on Friday.
A 17-year-old called 911, and when police arrived at the home, the child’s mother was attempting self-harm.
Walsh was “very invested” in the Lindsay Clancy trial and told investigators that she thought her son, Barrett, was “the devil.”
Lindsay Clancy strangled her three children to death in January 2023.
The young children, Cora (5), Callan (8 months), and Dawson (3), were found dead in the Clancy, Massachusetts, home’s basement.
Lindsay Clancy admitted to killing her three children; however, her defense team is arguing she should not be found guilty by reason of insanity.
During the Clancy trial, scores of women on social media, mainly TikTok, expressed their solidarity with Lindsay Clancy.
Fears of Clancy copycats have intensified as women openly defend Lindsay Clancy.
Similar to Lindsay Clancy, Corie Walsh was found upstairs in a bathtub attempting self-harm with a knife.
In a statement, Walsh’s attorney said the married mother of four was “experiencing a psychotic episode.”
