The Justice Department announced on Friday that it secured a deportation order in a first-of-its-kind case using the Alien Terrorist Removal Court (ATRC).
Attorney General Todd Blanche described the win in a “landmark case” as a “win for national security and the rule of law”
“Those who support and condone terrorism should not be living in the United States, and this first-ever case before the ATRC shows how the Department will use every tool at its disposal to protect our country,” said Blanche.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the administration made the first application in history to use the court, which was created in 1996, to remove Nazira Haji Zada, who was under investigation for “crimes related to international terrorism,” according to documents.
A July 16 order from the Alien Terrorist Removal Court reveals that the United States filed the first-ever application to the court to remove an unnamed respondent on July 15.
A hearing was held on July 16, during which the court was persuaded that “the Government could benefit from the opportunity for more thoughtful consideration,” Chief Judge Joan Eriksen wrote.
“As the matriarch in her family, she supported a plot to commit an ISIS-inspired mass shooting on Election Day in 2024 for which her son, Abdullah Haji Zada, and son-in-law, Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, were previously arrested and convicted. The ATRC issued an order of removal on Aug. 20 that was unsealed earlier today following her return to her country of origin,” the DOJ said in a press release Friday.

As the matriarch in her family, she supported a plot to commit an ISIS-inspired mass shooting on Election Day in 2024 for which her son and son-in-law were previously arrested and convicted.

This was the first case ever brought before the ATRC, which Congress established decades ago, and which no previous administration had used. Zada is now permanently inadmissible to the United States.
