LEFTIST activists have become unhinged as practising Catholic Dominic Perrottet is elected NSW’s 46th premier, promising to focus on families.
The father of six was yesterday backed by his Party room 39-5 after Gladys Berejiklian’s snap resignation last week.
- Mr Perrottet has been a staunch critic of late-term abortions.
- The great problem for people of the ABC is that it’s just not going according to their script.
- Part of their problem is that Catholics just refuse to go away.
The former NSW treasurer defeated Liberal leadership challenger Rob Stokes, who serves as the NSW Coalition’s minister for planning.
Mr Perrottet has in the past been a staunch critic of late-term abortion, blames welfare for declining fertility rates and acknowledged the rise of former US President Donald Trump as “a victory for people” who had been taken for granted by elites.
ABORTIONS
“I will be a family premier,” Mr Perrottet said immediately after yesterday’s vote. “Focussing on how we can make life better for working families.”
But a Women’s Electoral Lobby spokeswoman has come out swinging raising concerns Mr Perrottet’s faith may impact reforms giving women access to late-term abortions.
“We expect him to be respectful of that,” Lobby Co-ordinator Mary O’Sullivan said.
“We trust that the new premier doesn’t draw on private religious beliefs to impede ongoing implementation of the Abortion Law Reform Act.”
The abortion laws, supported by Ms Berejiklian, opens loopholes allowing gender-based pregnancy terminations – a practise more common among some immigrant communities.
Former ALP MP Cheryl Kernot, who engaged in a five-year affair with ALP colleague and married father of two Gareth Evans, posted a vomiting head on her social media site according to Sky News Australia.
“Now we have to suffer Perrottet, his family and his faith overload,” she allegedly wrote on the same tweet.
HORRIFYING
Greens MP Jenny Leong yesterday said the appointment of Mr Perrottet was “horrifying”.
“The concept of Premier Perrottet is horrifying for so many women, members of diverse communities and those who fear the rise of religious conservatism infecting our democracy and our politics,” she said.
The unhinged Greens MP publicly opposes religious freedom laws saying they enshrined “protections for people to engage in wholesale discrimination against women and the LGBTIQ+ community under the guise of religious freedoms”.
Former Australian Catholic University vice-chancellor Greg Craven, however, has defended Mr Perrottet against the anti-religious Left.
“One of the great mistakes here is to say ‘if a person is someone of faith they are biased and tainted but if they’re not then they are pure and decent’,” he said.
“Of course, having no faith is just a strong a statement of position as having a faith.
“Part of their problem is that Catholics just refuse to go away.
“The ABC and its friends cancelled Catholicism years ago and yet here we have a devout Catholic … becoming premier.”
Mr Craven said it should be remembered that Mr Perrottet’s leadership rival was a devout protestant.
“The great problem for people of the ABC – people like Jane Carro – is that it’s just not going according to the script.
“Tony Blair is a Catholic, Joe Biden is a Catholic and now Dominic Perrottet is a Catholic.
“The bloody Catholics are coming for everyone!”PC
Then as man of faith he must stand by that faith and remove the vaccination crap and the discrimination that is has brought not only to NSW but the nation . If God be for us who could be against us ??
Tony Blair was Anglican before converting to Catholic in 2007, Paul Keating is likely to be a Catholic and a Trade Unionist too.
Delighted to read that Mr Perrotet has gained office and equally delighted that the greens are ‘horrified’. An horrified Green is a Good Thing and shows at last that something positive might happen.
Yayyyyyy enjoy it while it lasts. Hope he makes it count….
Perhaps the explosion of outrage amongst the Left and the Greens in particular at the ascension of Perrottet is not so much anti-Catholic as anti-Christian. Christ famously said, ‘My Kingdom is not of this world’, something the Left and their chief propagandists at the ABC would never concede. They seek earthly dominion. The environmental movement, consciously or unconsciously, has stolen the meta-physics of Christianity and as such, naturally sees Christian witness as a mortal threat. Environmentalists see the consumer society as evidence of original sin, for which only they can offer the true path to redemption, and finally salvation. Their spokes-persons, or priesthood, are active in persuading us of our manifold sins and wickedness, for which they alone can offer atonement in the form of carbon-neutrality and the surrender of our gas-guzzling motor cars. At the Great Convocation of COP26 in the holy city of Glasgow (get a grip. Ed.) our intercessionaries will renew their vows and return infused with enhanced zeal and greater authority. After all, without an authority, there can be no morality, and this the Left intuitively understands. We will be expected to submit.
If Perrottet is Catholic like Blair is ‘Catholic’ or Biden is a ‘Catholic’ then Perrottet is not Catholic at all.
Blair converted from Anglican to Catholic around 2007. Both Tony and Dominic have big families and I reckon thats a good thing for Australia
Not if he follows Blair’s lead. The man is a scoundrel.
Is he still going to force Christians to be vaccinated with wiered genetic concoctions sold as legitimate vaccines? That will be actual test of his Christian faith!
Excellent article. Perrotet’s wife looks like a good sort, and they’re doing their bit for the nation by having 6 kids. He has a towering intellect, as compared the known pygmy intellects of his nominated detractors. He’s about to open up NSW and put a dollar in most people’s pockets, he demonstrably knows how to use his intellect to advance the best interests of the people of NSW, and as the detractors mentioned never had anything on offer, why was anything that they had to say at all on the subject ever even remarked upon! Who cares!
What matters is that a highly competent harbinger of family life and good standards is now running the show. Everyone can be thankful. The writer is not a catholic, but accepts what good catholicism has on offer for the community, notes that its evil percentage of pedophile priests have now mainly been outed, and observes what a huge difference that that faith materially makes to the welfare of so many poor people, catholics and atheists alike. Perrotet is of that ilk, and we’re lucky to have him, not some nutty left liberal who would send us broke transitioning to renewables.
Unreliables, intermittent energy sources that require back up generators and storage but are incapable of supplying even essential electricity baseload for the grid, let alone peak demand periods supply.
The EV revolution, please ignore the sources of electricity being mostly coal fired power stations and gas fired power generators, diesel generators and then hydro power stations and last wind and solar installations and back up.
Another crony capitalist venture, transition to EV, the perfect solution to not a problem that is natural Earth Cycles
