WITH the US presidential election result still before the courts, Leftist Liberal MPs have gone all in with Democratic candidate Joe Biden’s climate policies.
Mr Biden, who has been unofficially crowned President-elect by a number of partisan US media networks, has been a vocal supporter of his Party’s radical Green New Deal agenda.
This so-called deal would, among other things, see the phasing out of all oil and gas, the elimination of air travel and the banning of beef farming.
PARIS
The Green New Deal, proposed by self-described socialist US congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has also won support from the Australian Greens.
Wentworth Liberal MP Dave Sharma said having the US rejoin the Paris Agreement would be a welcome development.
“It has always been our view that you can’t address climate change unless all the major emitters are involved,” Mr Sharma was reported saying by Saturday’s Weekend Australian newspaper.
“Beyond that, we know that countries need to make commitments beyond 2030.”
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has resisted his government committing to any emission targets beyond 2030.
Fellow “moderate” Jason Falinski claimed Mr Biden’s approach was “largely in line with ours”.
The Mackellar federal MP – who last month defied the Prime Minister by publicly calling for a ban on gas exploration off the central NSW coast – said Mr Biden’s US$2 trillion Green New Deal had “all the sorts of subsidies Australia has had in place for a long time”.
“The [government’s] technology roadmap is the correct policy framework through which we need to look at meeting our international obligations, and the way States and territories can feed into a proper national policy around meeting their targets of net-zero by 2050,” Mr Falinksi is reported to have said.
FACTION
Mr Falinski’s position again appears to contradict Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who has publicly resisted his government committing to any net-zero emission targets.
NSW Environment & Energy Minister Matt Kean, who leads the NSW “moderate” faction, has been publicly rooting for a Democratic Party election victory.
“I think [Donald Trump] is the most dangerous man who has ever occupied the White House,” Mr Kean told the Australian Financial Review newspaper in an interview prior to the November 3 US election.
“I think that he’s bad for the economy. I think he’s bad for the environment and globalism. I think he’s bad for the stability of the world.
“If Trump is completely smashed it will mean the populist experiment will have failed … it will send a message that leaders who want to make decisions based on facts and evidence, and govern for the community interests rather than vested interests, will be rewarded.’’
Mr Kean expressed his hopes for a Democratic Party win by adding six crossed fingers to a Twitter retweet claiming “Trump on track to lose by a landslide.”
The election result will not be known until charges of voter fraud and counting irregularities have been dealt with by the US Supreme Court.PC
Looks like common sense is coming to America’s rescue, given its likely mooted mid-term election results. Biden and Harris are a known dud team, but we’re unlikely to hear much about them post 2024, if Biden lasts that long. The democratic cupboard is currently bare, the economic cycle is unlikely to favour them, the republicans now have lots of talent, and better times are probably coming.
We wait to see whether any climate change type believers will be prepared to debate Ian Plimer. That will be an interesting debate, and an improvement from history cancel culture and pulling down statues. Anyone prepared to debate him will be afforded courtesy, and respected for the courage of their convictions. So far they’ve been demonstrably too afraid, but if they believe in what they expouse then someone from their number should front.
IF THE U.S. DEMOCRATS GET A MAJORITY IN THE SENATE, BIDEN’S GREEN GILLS WOULD SERIOUSLY HARM THE U.S. ECONOMY —— ALL OVER A CONSPIRACY MADE UP OF TRIPE, BALONEY, DRIVEL AND CLAPTRAP, CONSISTENTLY FINANCED BY HUGE TAX HIKES!
AND THEN THERE ARE THE LOONIES IN POOR BRITAIN!
More regularly now, we see POOR OLD SOOTY, the very British glove puppet, waffling on AGAIN, about our very imminent doom from the shocking horrors of ‘climate change’!!!
I guess he feels he must justify his ROYAL-IN-WAITING position by emitting some public performances. But it’s just so terribly obvious that he is now being manipulated by the hand of the very dangerous, dark force for World Marxism – the mongrels of the ‘GREAT RESET’ movement.
I’m a Monarchist, unreservedly admiring Queen Elizabeth and the marvellous virtues for which she stands so resolutely. I believe in our unique, truly great system of a CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHY which has now gathered into its fold, peoples from all corners of our Earth.
However, the thought of KING CHARLES as a misinformed captive, ardently spruiking so much ordure, fills me with huge dismay and, with every further reflection, mounting anger!
Britain also has malleable Noddy at No. 10! He seems to be completely under the sway of Mrs. Tiddley Winkle, advising (or forcing?) him to adopt a ludicrous, green ‘climate’ agenda. So Noddy has turned his back on wise Big Ears, who it seems, has taken up his box and departed.
Woeful green follies persist, giving rise to plagues of ugly, bird-killing, oft-failing, wind turbines everywhere it seems!
HOWEVER, TAKE NOTE ALL YOU POLLIES WHO HAVE BOARDED THE SHIP OF FOOLS: THE GREATER MAJORITY OF NORMAL, INTELLIGENT FOLK HAVE A WAY DIFFERENT AGENDA FOR THE SMOOTH SAILING OF THEIR FAMILIES AND FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF THEIR NATIONS. THIS INSISTS ON MASSES OF RELIABLE, CHEAP, BASE-LOAD ENERGY TO POWER IT ALL!
LONG LIVE COAL, GAS AND NUCLEAR!
Poor man I g
Dave Sharma is in the wrong party. What else would you expect from someone that was backed by Turnbull! These guys should just join Labor or the Greens because that’s what they are! Now they are in bed with Zali Steggal! Matt Kean is a socialist so go where you belong!! They are getting desperate & losing their hold on the Renewables dream! Maybe their money has been invested in that direction as well?? Following the demands of a 16-year-old has done you no good!
Great news about the States Carmichael Mine & looking good for Adani!
Why don’t we cut out the middleman and trash the economy by printing money and putting everyone on welfare. It’ll work perfectly until we have to face up to reality and pay our international bills.
I think Biden is going to have his job cut out changing the US. Renewables are the next-big thing that didn’t happen even with subsidies and special government rules to favour them. Even the Californian’s are starting to recognise their mistakes as their business and jobs are going where the energy is cheaper.
So, instead of accepting the reality, the global elites and people like the Democrats and Labor left are trying to breath more life into renewables as they try and run the global economy like they were big monopoly technology entrepreneurs that think they can shape markets.
Renewables won’t happen, because they are not cost-effective ways to reduce CO2; even if we did need to do so, so precipitously. I notice the Russians haven’t gone renewables mad, they were smart enough to pick the right modellers that had results closer to actual observed and measured change, which is not really worth worrying about unless you suffer from paranoia or are a globalists control freak. Russia is a minerals and energy rich nation too and closer to China; they are our competition. You can see which is the smarter strategist.
