Liberals worse than European socialists

by PAUL COLLITS – DURING a recent absence from Australia, I thought I would stop by Old Europe and savour its remaining charms while it still vaguely exists in its traditional form.

This provided a welcome break from the tedium of creeping, progressive totalitarianism in our backyard.

Conservative Australian governments who are woke globalists ultimately deliver power to rabid, socialist tyrants like the disaster who is Anthony Albanese.

And so it proved.

Two of my more memorable experiences were a sobering visit to Dachau and supping on an Aussie style “flat white” at Scruton Café in Budapest.

DECLINE

Each of these could only remind one of the inestimable importance of freedom in our era of secular decline.

A few things happened in Australia while I was away.

One thing that has Sydneysiders (at least) excited was the recent opening of the new Metro underground rail line.

Inevitably there were photo opps for the powers-that-be. The Labor Premier of NSW invited former Liberal Party premiers along for the ribbon cutting.

Dominic Perrottet, recently resigned to take up his private sector reward job in the USA, was there and beaming.

Awkwardly absent was Perottet’s hero and predecessor, Gladys Berejiklian, described once by a friend with links to the NSW Liberal Party as a “Leftist robot”.

She is, no doubt, licking her wounds following the State Supreme Court’s decision to uphold a finding of public corruption against her.

Alas, the corruption charges against her had nothing to do with her appalling pandemic tyranny.

Both Perrottet and Gladys were COVID-criminals, both still unpunished.

In Perrottet’s final parliamentary speech, he admitted that he and his predecessor got the vaccine mandates “wrong”.

Wrong? Many since his speech have begged to differ.

Right intentions? No, governments Down Under did not have good intentions. They were either clueless and duped by over-excited, compromised and possibly corrupt bureaucrats, medicos, academics and journalists, or they were complicit in crimes against humanity.

SANCTIONED

What about all the people who died as a result of government-sanctioned vaccines? Or who were permanently injured.

What about those who were denied effective treatments just so the global drug cartel, aka Big Pharma, could rake in billions in profits from their gene therapy injectables?

Too little, far too late, Mr former Premier.

It is noteworthy that two former senior ministers in the defeated NSW Liberal Government have now left the political scene for “greener” pastures.

One, the notorious former Leftist Treasurer, Matt Kean, has accepted a job as Labor PM Albanese’s Climate Change Authority Chairman. While at the same time accepting a job with the green investment vehicle, Wollemi Capital.

A clear conflict of interest, as The Australian Financial Review notes. Far worse, it shines a light on the nature of contemporary Australian politics, on the workings of the UniParty and on the true nature of the Liberal Party. Matt Kean has been controlling the NSW Liberal Party for years.

Then there is former senior NSW Minister Rob Stokes, who has joined Macquarie Law School as Industry Professor, Environment and Sustainability, to drive world-leading research in sustainable urban development.

Oh dear.

These are the people who run as “conservatives” in Australia these days. They are the same people who crushed rights and freedom during the plandemic, and who have since escaped even the thinnest scrutiny.

Conservative governments who are globalists, and incompetent ones at that, ultimately deliver power to rabid, socialist tyrants like “Two Tier Kier” and Australia’s own disaster, Anthony Albanese.

APOLOGY

Since Dominic Perrottet’s sort-of admission of guilt – without any semblance of an apology, of course – the Leftist Labor Government in Canberra has quashed an attempt by the “COVID 5” heroes – Matt Canavan, Gerard Rennick, Alex Antic, Ralph Babet and Malcolm Roberts – to have the Australian Senate approve a fair dinkum inquiry (in contrast to the one we now have).

Interestingly, The Greens actually support such an inquiry. In principle only.

They abstained from the vote, no doubt as part of a deal with Labor. Our egregious Prime Minister had actually promised a real inquiry before the last election. Oops.

What struck me about the vote and the debates in the Senate was not Labor’s opposition to the proposed inquiry, or even the crude epithets tossed across the chamber by some gnome of a Labor Senator, of whom most Australians have never heard, but rather the interesting decision by the Senate’s three most senior Liberals to oppose the inquiry. What the hell?

Two of the three, Senate opposition leader Simon “Birmo” Birmingham and Sarah Henderson, have wet-establishment form going back many decades. Neither would ever be seen dead in a Scruton café in Budapest.

They are the types who smirk and sneer at ordinary (deplorable) Australians.

Not, of course, that pandemic crimes should be a matter of Left or Right. Don’t the Liberals stand for freedom?

It was the Liberals who were in office in Canberra when the COVID substances hit the fan. As many readers will recall, Liberal PM Scott Morrison:

  • Put in place national lockdowns, stopping Australians leaving the country;
  • Cheered on Labor thug premiers like Daniel Andrews;
  • Created the anti-constitutional “National Cabinet” involving all the State premiers to make all COVID policy decisions;
  • Funded billion-dollar vaccine detention centres;
  • Used his bureaucrats in the Office of the eSafety Commissioner to censor dissidents through fact checkers employed by Facebook;
  • Disowned his (very few, courageous) backbenchers (like the estimable George Christensen) who raised doubts about the direction of policy;
  • Shut down the Parliament; and
  • Spent just south of a trillion bucks on make-work and business welfare schemes in order to stop his disastrous lockdowns from causing an economic depression.

No, the three Liberal Amigos are simply circling the wagons of their own Party’s past crimes. It is a disgrace.

Oh, and Senator Gerard Rennick, a real hero, was recently disendorsed by his Queensland State Liberal Party members for the next Senate election. Of course he was.

He has now resigned from the Liberal Party and formed a new – and yet another Aussie micro – Party.

RESIGNATION

Both Rennick’s resignation and the decision of the Queensland Liberal members to kick him off the ticket reveals everything about the Liberals and their attitude to individual rights.

It is little short of disgusting. The Liberal Party prominently displays the middle finger to much of its own base, many of whom would regard Rennick as one of the few remaining reasons to vote for them.

[Rennick’s response in the Parliament to the Labor Government’s move can be found here.]

Together, all of these developments simply reinforce the perception that so-called Australian conservatives are corrupt careerists, without the slightest feel for the noble calling to which they once paid lip service.

It is all very sobering. It is great to be home.PC

  1. When we have saboteurs, like Speakman and his accomplice Harwin at the helm, the Liberal Party will find it increasingly difficult to ‘get out of the blocks’ and until
    conservatives are given a free run, instead of those left of centre that they ‘cuckoo’ in, things will never change.

  2. Usually parties don’t win elections, the opposition lose. But currently they’re both losers. Both have gone woke, Morrison government stuffed the economy, neither major parties have done an adequate response to covid. If I had to vote for one or the other its a hard choice. Might have to look at the minor parties.

  3. Bobby Kennedy: May your speech change the course of history!
    In supporting Trump, the first and only openly anti-globalist, pro-America president since George Washington, Bobby Kennedy is daring to defy the darkest and most deadly power in the world….
    Breggin Alerts! Exposing Global Predators

    On August 23, 2024, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., known to all of us as Bobby Kennedy, told the world that, after deep prayer, he would support Donald Trump’s election to a second term.
    Throughout his career, Bobby has been protecting children, including their brains and minds, from pollution, vaccines, and other threats.
    That is why he founded the Children’s Defense Fund. Although his work dovetailed with ours, we never connected, in part because of political differences and sadly because we lacked appreciation of the danger of vaccines in general.
    Americans, we have now witnessed one of the few times in our lives when a man with a substantial amount of power and money is defying his constituency and the global powers by throwing his weight behind Donald Trump. His speech and actions are earth-shaking, not merely because he endorsed President Trump, not even because he explicitly exposed the corrupt death throes of the Democratic Party, and not even because he took a profoundly moral stand in defense of America and its children.
    In supporting Trump, the first and only openly anti-globalist, pro-America president since George Washington, Bobby Kennedy is daring to defy the darkest and most deadly power in the world — powerful predatory globalists who corrupted and coopted the Democrat Party and who are trying to take America down.

    I was stunned by the honesty with which he criticizes the Deep State, including the FDA, CDC, NIH, CIA, and others by name; the clarity with which he described the sacrifice of the young people and children in Ukraine for the benefit of NATO, the military-industrial complex, and other predators; how he excoriated the drug companies and others who advocate the drugging of children and the rest of the population. He even briefly refers to those who aspire to create an “American global hegemony,” although we see that being replaced by a Western Global Empire that is hostile to America.

  4. DEFENDING DEMOCRACY
    Defending Democracy – Australia’s biggest ever on line political rally for #FreeSpeech
    Raise a Shield
    On Tuesday night at 7pm Tuesday 20 August, 2024 (if not a little sooner) this page is where you’ll be able to watch the live telethon, “Defending Democracy”. CAS is bringing together many of Australia’s best loved, right thinking politicians, independent journalists and commentators, academics and influencers to rally for a defence of democratic essentials like freedom of speech and religion.
    You’ll hear short but passionate speeches and interviews with names and faces you’ll know and love like Alex Antic, Malcolm Roberts, Ralph Babet, Damian Coory, Avi Yemeni, George Christensen, Lyle Shelton, Alexandra Marshall, Topher Field, Stephen Chavura, Warren Mundine, Andrew Cooper, James Allan, Augusto Zimmermann, Gabriel Moens, Michelle Pearse, John Steenhof, Martyn Iles, Gary Johns, David Adler, Andrew Cedra, John Ruddick, Daisy Cousens and more.
    Enough is enough.
    It’s time to raise a shield against the sword of government, a sword of lawfare being wielded maliciously against Christians, conservatives and other right thinking people by grievance activists.
    This Tuesday night Australians are going to send a loud and clear message to every citizen:
    “If you are unjustly targeted with lawfare because of the free exercise of your conscience, we’ve got your back.”
    We will raise $1,000,000 in just three hours to create a significant war chest for HRLA, the Human Rights Law Alliance, the shield against the sword of government. Can we raise double or triple that? Yes, if you make sure everyone you know if watching this live and digging deep.
    Let’s send the weaponised anti-discrimination industry a message that there are no easy targets any more.

  5. Don’t let up Paul, love the 8 dot points, lest we forget, but I won’t. In my view Senator Gerard Rennick is one of the finest political minds in Australia today and he has a rare quality in politics, humility. This was very evident in a recent exchange between Rennick and (John) Ruddick on Chris Smith’s program on ADH.tv. Ruddick got nasty and personal whereas Rennick stuck to policies and facts retaining his even manner with good humour. In the height of lockdown madness when Gerard Rennick put out a post on Facebook he got 1000’s of likes an hour, I worked it out as about 1 a second. His calm and knowledgeable manner gives us hope in a bleak political landscape.
