House Speaker Mike Johnson was on “Fox News Sunday” with host Shannon Bream to talk about the midterm election polls.
He explained that the polling was not accurate because “they’re based on faulty analysis.”
Bream showed a Fox News poll that had the Democrats winning, even if the Republicans had good election night results.
“You say those predictions are wrong? Why?” Bream asked.
“Those polls are wrong. They’re based on faulty analysis,” Johnson said.
“In the last week, Shannon, you’ve had two polling organizations nationwide being exposed for completely fraudulent numbers,” Johnson said.
“The more traditional researchers and poll organizations are acknowledging that they’ve been undersampling Republicans,” Johnson continued.
“Republicans are no longer responding to polls,” Johnson continued.
“I’m going to the swing districts. The places where we are gonna flip the blue seats to red, and we are having hundreds of people turn out for these events,” Johnson said.
Speaker Johnson explained that when he went to events in swing districts, he would ask people if they responded to polls. He said very few Republicans were responding to polls.
“When I’m in these big arenas, Shannon, I ask for hands. Show me your hand if you’ve answered a poll in the last six months. They’ll be like three hands among 300 people,” Johnson continued.
Bream asked Speaker Johnson how he is handling his job as the Speaker of the House.
“How much pressure do you feel now looking forward to and trying to hold on to the House and how tough has it been to manage that majority?” Bream asked.
“It’s not an easy job, but I never feel the pressure of that. I know we are doing the right thing for the right reason,” Johnson said.
