THIS is the “woke” official who helped spread Coronavirus throughout Italy, resulting in thousands of deaths so far with no end in sight.
Florence’s Leftist Mayor Dario Nardella [pictured right] declared February 1st as “Hug a Chinese Day” in a virtuous effort to combat so-called “Corona racism”.
His decree, which he encouraged nation-wide, immediately followed US President Donald Trump’s travel restrictions to and from China.

As one social media commentator explained: “They’re no longer racist because they’re dead”.
This is the same mayor who publicly yelled “allahu akbah” after the 2017 Barcelona terrorist attacks in Spain, apparently, to signal his solidarity with European Islam. The “van attack” killed 13 and injured 100.
After Nardella’s latest stunt, Italian virologist Dr Giorgio Palu, a professor at the University of Padova and former head of the European and Italian Society for Virology, said political correctness had doomed his country’s Coronavirus response.
“Concerns over politics and being perceived as racist delayed Rome’s response to the deadly virus that originated in China,” Dr Palu said.
LAZY
He said politics delayed the government’s reaction, which he decried as “lazy in the beginning”, saying there is “too much politics in Italy.”
“There was a proposal to isolate people coming from the epicenter, coming from China.”
However, he says the Italian government balked at the idea of singling out travellers coming from China out of concern it could be construed as racist.
