Supermodel Heidi Klum arrived at her star-studded Halloween party in New York City on Saturday night transformed into a giant, grotesque severed human hand, complete with her face protruding from the bloody wrist area, dangling veins and tendons, oversized rings, and long red fingernails.
The elaborate and highly anticipated costume was for the 25th anniversary of her annual “Heidiween” bash at Cathédrale.

Klum arrived at the party in a truck marked with red “danger” signs by people in full yellow protective suits.

Klum, long known as the Queen of Halloween for her over-the-top transformations, teased for weeks that this year’s costume would be “very, very bloody” and would force her body into a shape no human normally occupies.
Most people were guessing she was going to dress up as a character from The Substance, based on the teaser photos. They were extremely wrong.

The model worked with special-effects artist Mike Marino and his ProRenFX team, who scanned her actual hand to create an exact replica featuring her engagement ring, wedding band, and a small finger tattoo.
Klum’s head was in the center of the back of her hand near the severed wrist, surrounded by dripping fake blood, exposed tissue, and hanging sinews, while her legs became two of the fingers.
The party, presented by Apothic Wines and Butterfinger, is the latest in a long line of Klum’s high-concept costumes, including a giant worm, a peacock, E.T., and last year’s Medusa.

Klum told Vogue she wanted to take something ordinary, a hand, and turn it into something larger than life and bizarre.
Her husband, Tom Kaulitz of Tokio Hotel, was absent because he was on tour and had a show in Hamburg the following day.
