Ilhan Omar resurfaces at the Karmel Mall of Somalia in Minneapolis
Somali Rep. Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, aka Ilhan Omar, was spotted last Friday at the Karmel Mall of Somalia in Minneapolis, where she greeted supporters, took photos, and sat for lunch.
This was during her first public appearance last week since the raid on her Washington, DC home by federal agents.
Previously, The Gateway Pundit reported that she was seen entering the Mosque at Karmel Mall after it was revealed in court filings that her real name is Ilhan Nur Said Elmi– the same last name as her brother-husband, sister, and late-father.
A Fox News reporter asked the Somali Rep., “Is your name Ilhan Nur Said Elmi or Ilhan Abdullahi Omar?” and she defiantly responded, “It’s Ilhan Abdullahi Omar. You know it.”
Now, Fox has released additional footage from her day at the Somali mall last Friday. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison was also seen at the mall with Omar.

As reported by Fox, the mall’s owner and Ilhan Omar’s friend, Basim Sabri, who was born in Gaza but now owns a real estate empire in Minnesota, including the mall and several apartment complexes, also has a criminal history of his own.

In 2005, Sabri was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for bribing a local Minneapolis public official. He told Fox News Digital about his time in prison, which included a brief stay at the infamous Federal Correctional Institution, Leavenworth in Kansas, almost boastfully.
Sabri bragged that the siloed Somali mall is evidence of assimilation on behalf of his foreign-born tenants and part of living the “American dream,” though the opposite seemed true.
“You can see [the] Somalis not only integrating in the community, but also prospering,” he said. “Somalis are very smart business individuals.”
“Yes, there’s some crooks in every society … just like every other community,” he said, apparently nodding to the massive fraud scandals that have plagued the Somali community in Minnesota in the national headlines.
