Trump signed a proclamation Tuesday saying that outer space is “open to exploration, development, use and the establishment of American citizens,” as long as they follow U.S. and international law. He mentioned the Artemis II flight this April, plus the upcoming Artemis III flight next year.
Trump has spoken to reporters several times this week, following the midterm losses, including a brief address to construction workers at the White House Ballroom construction site on Wednesday.
Trump also spoke to reporters as he left the White House, where he commented on the latest staffing shakeup after announcing that current White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles will be replaced by Deputy Chief of Staff and Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller.
“Sometimes in life you have to make moves,” he said, explaining his decision.
