by FRED PAWLE – ANTHONY Albanese leads the most destructive government in our nation’s history.
In four short years he has decimated our energy infrastructure, driven out what was left of our industries and sent a record 14,722 businesses into administration in one year (2024-25).
- In four short years he has decimated both Australia’s economy and society.
- Albanese has the rare characteristic of getting worse at things the more he does them.
- He is, hands down, the most pathetic ever Australian Prime Minister.
He also made Australia the second highest-taxed nation in the world (after Iceland), crashed house prices while, unbelievably, driving thousands of people into homelessness.
He covered up the worst terrorist attack on Australian soil to protect his Muslim voter base, gave tens of millions of dollars to the Hamas terrorists who raped and murdered Israelis in 2023, hired tens of thousands of public servants to artificially buoy the employment rate, and shielded the corrupt CFMEU from criminal investigation.
CENSOR
On top of that he ignored the people’s wish to not politicise indigenous relations – and is now determined to pass laws designed to censor criticism of his agenda.
If he has any skill at all, it is that he can do all of the above while pretending, if only to himself, that it is all for the good of the nation – that everything he does is imbued with the solemn obligation he has as Prime Minister of Australia.
But as we have all learned, Albanese has the rare characteristic of getting worse at things the more he does them.
There is literally nothing this bloke has ever done in which his performance improves each time he does it.
Everything he does, he does it worse the next time. And pretending to be the benevolent leader of Australia is no exception.
He let this particular facade slip at an event hosted by his predecessor Kevin Rudd in New York last week.
It was at the headquarters of the Asia Society, of which Rudd is both president and CEO, on Park Avenue, on the fancy Upper East Side of Manhattan.
The guest list for a private conversation between a current and former Prime Minister of Australia in New York would normally include a smattering of the city’s diplomatic, business and political elite.
If that had been the case, both Rudd and Albanese would have by now flooded their feeds with selfies with important people taken in the foyer before and after the event.
Alas, such posts are conspicuously absent, which leads to the inevitable conclusion that nobody important turned up.
Indeed, only 44 people clicked on Rudd’s X post announcing the event, so one imagines Rudd was reduced to standing on the pavement on Park Avenue handing out tickets to Chinese and Middle Eastern tourists just to avoid talking to an empty room.
SPOUTING
You can watch the whole 45-minute conversation here, but only if you have a strong stomach and a masochistic fascination with narcissistic nerds spouting platitudes they could recite under anaesthetic.
And even then, I would strongly advise you skip the moment when the Prime Minister and his predecessor crack puerile jokes about poo and toilet paper.
You can hear some people in the audience laugh, but that might be because they don’t speak English and were just politely going along with the two gigglers on stage.
The casual atmosphere in the room must have given Albanese a false confidence that he could, for a change, be candid about his relationship with the Australian people.
And what a candid revelation it was!
Albanese admitted that the only crowd of “Australians” who have ever shown affection towards him are Indians – who had gathered in a sports stadium to see their real hero, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
SYMBOLIC
Watch as both Albanese and Rudd find it amusing that Albanese is an absolute nobody to this particular audience. It is impossible to overstate how symbolic this is of Australia’s current status:
The Prime Minister of Australia can only get recent immigrants to cheer him if the visiting Prime Minister of India tells them to.
Australia is the country that gave the world the Anzacs, Weary Dunlop, Nancy Wake, Mick Doohan, Australia II, Barry Humphries, AC/DC, Douglas Mawson and, if opera is your thing, Dame Nellie Melba.
But not one of those names would mean a thing to that crowd of Indian Modi fans. And the name “Albanese” means even less, even though his government stamped the visas that allowed them and their extended families in.
This is, hands down, the most pathetic admission ever by an Australian Prime Minister – until, that is, the next time Albanese is lulled into making another candid revelation about his time in office.PC
