But his – and Australia’s – ability to “sell” a reputation for excellence in COVID management has suddenly taken a dive. Mind you, Australia’s acquisition of this reputation for “pandemic management” has always been somewhat of a mystery.

DEPUTY Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce has stated that Australia “absolutely” needs more coal-fired power stations into the future. In a departure from the anti-coal stance of so many in federal parliament – including Left-wing Liberal MPs Jason Falinski, Warren Entsch and Dave Sharma – Mr Joyce has placed coal-fired power firmly back on the national agenda.

In a stirring speech to federal parliament on Tuesday the new National Party leader sent radical Liberals – as well as their “progressive” Labor mates – scrambling to protect their pet climate projects.
MELBOURNE University is set to finalise its new “Gender Affirmation Policy,” which will ban speeches, behaviours, or activities suspected of posing “potential harm” to transgender people at the university. When enacted, the policy will allow people claiming transgender rights to choose any bathroom facilities that most closely align with the gender they identify with.
