THE world – yes, I do mean the world – reacted with something approaching horror, or, if not, with at least surprise approaching unease, at the weekend news that YouTube is censoring Sky News for its thought crimes in relation to lockdowns.
YouTube, of course, is infamously owned by Google, which is known for rearranging its search algorithm to silence, or at least to hide from view, any thought criminals which it regards as a danger to its world view.
- Murdoch is okay to bag lockdowns, but vaccines are sacrosanct.
- Yet lockdowns don’t force you to inject something that might kill.
- Trading away one right against another is not freedom.
In many ways, vaccine passports are actually far, far worse than lockdowns.
Lockdowns don’t (in effect) make you inject something into your own body that might kill or otherwise harm you and will not guarantee your freedom from getting COVID.
DICTATED
Trading away one right (the right to control my own medical regime and not have this dictated by the State) against another (my right to holiday interstate or to travel overseas) is not the way of the true believer in freedom, I’m afraid.
And those who think this is okay are not liberals. They are utilitarians. And in no way less selfish than the jabattoir refuseniks, despite what the proselytisers like Michael Gove in the UK and Brad Hazzard say in their attacks upon perfectly reasonable and unselfish people.
The Murdoch press’s malevolent attitude to freedom-fighting protesters – the litany of abuse is now familiar – and its apparent glee at the inevitable vaccine passports are further evidence that it does not see the right to refuse the jab and still go to the pub as a right worth fighting for.
For a libertarian like Murdoch, to choose not to die on this hill is beyond disappointing.
The international evidence grows by the day on the inability of vaccines to stop the spread of COVID, to eliminate hospitalisation and to prevent death.
Then there are the mounting deaths from, and adverse reactions to, the vaccines. Allegedly under-reported by sufferers in both the UK and the USA, and not reported at all in the press – anywhere.
What about the rights of workers now threatened with a new regime of “no jab, no job”, seemingly egged on, even demanded, by such bastions of freedom as The Business Council of Australia?
Where do Australians read about these developments? Not in the mainstream media.
Oops, sorry, Robert Gottliebsen did mention increasing concerns in Israel that the vaccine wasn’t stopping the spread of the Delta variant. Once. The exception that proves the rule.
Doesn’t the media see even the slightest of problems with the State standing by, or worse, demanding that businesses stop their employees from going to work unjabbed?
Or with business organisations likely soon to be lobbying for indemnity from prosecution against discrimination that is recognised as such by every major international rights institution?
GLIB
The glib defences of “no job no jab” talk – and yes, now it is just talk, but trust me, it is coming – by ministers whose moral compasses have been dulled by COVID, or turned off completely, are one thing.
It is already a serious debate in the UK. Media outlets (like Britain’s Talk Radio) doing their jobs are questioning what legal rights workers will have in the coming vaccine fascism. No such debates in Australia, only silence.
And similar glib talk from business leaders is only to be expected. As the CEO of the Business Council thought aloud: “At the very least, we have to be willing to have a targeted conversation about making the vaccine worth something.”
Cleverly disguised political-speak, that.
We already have (inevitably) Alan Joyce demanding vaccine passports for aviation workers. Big Tech is salivating at no jab no job. Facebook and Google are leading the way, not unexpectedly.
But a glib media is not a good look in a democracy.
A free press, where journalists are not censored either from without or from within is a core marker of a democracy.
As London mayoral candidate Laurence Fox has said, we have become China.
Incidentally, as UK political commentator Paul Joseph Watson has noted in a biting critique of Australia’s COVID regime, China has criticised Australia for being too draconian over COVID management!
No, even our respectable legacy media have signed up for the Deep Vaccine State. Roll up yer sleeves! Do it for Australia! Do it for freedom!
Bag the anti-vaxxers. Call them conspiracy theorists. Fail to report real stories about real problems with the vaccines. Oh, and just like Google, stop your own journalists from speaking the truth.PC

Of course the Covid vaccination SHOULD NOT BE MADE MANDATORY in any way – just as LOCKDOWNS:- HOME DETENTION, BANS ON FREE MOVEMENT, BANS ON THE RIGHT TO WORK, BANS ON THE RIGHT TO BE EDUCATED, ETC. – SHOULD NEVER, EVER, – EVER – BE INFLICTED ON ANY OF US.
