ANOTHER Left-embracing State Liberal Party has been hammered at the polls, with South Australian Liberal leader Steven Marshall struggling to hold his own seat.
In a replay of WA’s 2021 election disaster, South Australians carried baseball bats to yesterday’s general election to bludgeon a limp, Greens-inspired Liberal Party.
- Left-wing Liberals blame loss on almost everything except their unpalatable, anti-conservative policies.
- Senator Simon Birmingham denies any lessons to be learned by federal Party.
- Labor lies and COVID blamed for huge Liberal loss.
As the scale of the wipeout became apparent, Mr Marshall conceded defeat less than four hours after polls closed. His own seat of Dunstan remained too close to call.
Like in WA, the South Australian Liberal division has been overrun by Left-wing activists who have embraced “warming” radicalism, late-term abortion and euthanasia.
EXPEL
It had even sought to expel hundreds of Christian members, who were fed-up with the Party’s increasingly immoral policy positions.
In March last year, the WA Liberals were all but wiped out after embracing radical climate policies and a Greens-inspired social agenda under then leader Zac Kirkup.
Winning only two of 59 lower house seats in WA, the Liberals were demoted to minor Coalition partner status in that State.
The Liberals in South Australia meanwhile, under the influence of the Left’s Steven Marshall, Christopher Pyne and federal Senator Simon Birmingham, fared almost as poorly.
As counting continued overnight the Liberals were fortunate to reach double digits. Labor had secured 26 seats, Liberals 12, independents five and four remained undecided.
Mr Marshall went to the election with 25 seats.
As is too often the case, Left-wing Liberals have blamed the loss on almost everything except their unpalatable, anti-conservative policy positions.
Senator Simon Birmingham who, along with Black Hander Christopher Pyne, wields factional influence within South Australia has pointed to “Labor’s lies” for the defeat.
MISLEADING
While claiming South Australian voters were “tricked” by Labor, Senator Birmingham has denied there are any lessons to be learned by federal Liberals.
“I think Labor’s campaign was effective, but I also think, as the Electoral Commission found, that it was based on misleading statements and that of course is something that does mean that some voters potentially were tricked,” he told the ABC.
“But equally I think COVID-19 did play a very difficult role for Steven Marshall.” PC
I think the Premier of SA lost because of policy.
Shortly after gaining office his government expanded land tax and reduced exemptions. This placed pressure on Liberal property owners who had just voted for them. The majority of the pain was borne by the middle classes who provide accommodation and employment and spend money into the general economy. More recently, covid vax mania and demonisation of Senator Antic as well as placing Greens high on their voting ticket recommendations sealed the former government’s fate.
They preferenced the greens ahead of PHON! The LNP has been taken over by inner city greens. Marshmellow was and is a dope. Same as the fool in WA. Scomo won in 2019 because he supported coal and Brown and his idiot convoy of greens through QLD showed the electorate what fools the alp was and is. All it would take is for scomo and Taylor to come out and say they were going to keep Eraring open and building new HELE coal plants and nuclear. They won’t because the bureaucrats are in their ear and they’re afraid of the media.
It is a quirk of human psychology when people who might vote Liberal in the recent WA or SA elections actually vote for Labor….it seems that even otherwise-Liberal voters will vote for a definite and four-square Labor Party rather than a Liberal Party that creates no narrative, no vision and no clear-cut principles.
At least by voting for Labor in the recent SA elections, people knew what they were voting for EVEN IF it went against their personal (non-Labor) voting history. Better the devil you know than the one you can’t understand!
Unfortunately there are too many Liberal / National supporters who are rusted on. They refuse to vote for anyone else even though they can see the LNP is not fighting for them any more. Too many think an ideologically crippled LNP is preferable to the ALP / Green watermelons without realizing or caring there is not much between them. As this story shows, and as the even worse betrayal of values by the LNP in the WA and Queensland election show, the LNP is doing Olympic level back flips to out Green the Greens, the ALP surrendered to this years ago to stem the inner city Chardonnay Socialists switch the the Marxists, sorry Greens. Now with SA the LNP have shown yet again they are not of the right, merely the right wing of the Far left narrative we find ourselves combating.
There is far too much hand wringing and fake explanations when the answer is obvious. The LNP is broken and needs replacing if we are not to see, although it has already started, the excesses of Marxist oppressive tolerance ripping our societies apart.
Federally there is only one option. Vote for the minor parties, who support Australian values, vote for independents who support Australian values. Always put LNP ALP / Watermelons at the bottom of the ballot. Choose wisely because the current revolving door of two parties is taking Australia down. More and more Australian values: mateship, common sense, fairness, pride in the country etc is be sold out by politicians who are anti-Australian and do not care one iota for the Australian people.
The goofballs in the Liberal Party won’t listen, it appears, until the federal and every last state government is destroyed at the polls. A total clean-out may be the only way for Liberal policy to realign with its conservative base.
