Monarchists take stick to radical Charles

MONARCHISTS are seething following Prince Charles’ COP26 speech where he described “climate change” as a life-threatening and existential threat requiring a military-style response.

The doomsday prince told his Glasgow audience this month that time had already run out and a “military-style” campaign was required.

It’s one thing to talk about protecting the environment but quite another to talk about militarising action on climate change.

“Climate change and biodiversity pose an existential threat and we have to put ourselves on a war-like footing,” he said.

“We know this will take trillions, not billions of dollars.”

PANDERING

The Prince of Wales suggested implementing a global carbon tax targeting energy generation, agriculture, transport, health providers and the fashion industry.

His pandering to environmental extremists, however, has Australian monarchists seeing red.

The National Chairman of the Australian Monarchists League, Philip Benwell, said Charles’ radical position could derail his organisation’s efforts.

“Climate change has already contributed to the downfall of two Australian prime ministers,” Mr Benwell said this week.

“It is important that it doesn’t also contribute to the downfall of our system of constitutional monarchy,” he said.

Mr Benwell accused the Prince of Wales of exceeding his “boundaries”.

“The Prince of Wales is extremely passionate about climate action and like so many people with a passion, exceeds the boundaries expected of him,” he said.

“It’s one thing to talk about protecting the environment but quite another to talk about militarising action on climate change.

“He should not be doing this.

“Being so close to the throne and assuming many duties of it due to the Queen’s age, he should be more judicious in his comments as he is no longer so free to speak.”

CONTROVERSIAL

Mr Benwell said while the Prince’s views seemed to resonate with younger generations, they were highly controversial with others.

“We have been so fortunate in having, as our Queen for nearly 70 years, a sovereign lady who has never overstepped the boundaries of her duty.

“Whilst some may not agree with everything the Queen or the king-in-waiting may say, it is the system that is more important.”

Mr Benwell suggested Charles’ extremist position on climate could jeopardise Australia’s current system of government – and place ultimate power into the hands of untrustworthy politicians.

“At the moment politicians must obey the constitution which, through the Crown is in the hands of the people,” he said.

“Just ask yourself the question, ‘will these very same politicians obey the constitution if they control it?’”PC

  1. Well Charles has certainly been wholly captured and become a puppet mouthpiece of the purveyors of false science! These rapacious purveyors, stand to make trillions from the fear they’ve created!

Humans are responsible for emitting only 3% of the TRACE gas – CO2, the rest being from natural sources and NOT ONE scientist has ever proved that this 3% of this TRACE gas is in any way resulting in ‘climate change’! The fact is, this extremely slight increase is ‘greening’ our Earth and allowing us to better ‘feed the world’!

The climate has been changing for billions of years and our huge nuclear reactor in the sky, one million miles in diameter is wholly responsible for all of our climate cycles and whether these warm and cold cycles are stronger or weaker.

  2. Prince Charles has become a nitwit and should not become king. The royal family should stick to opening fetes etc.

    1. Prince Charles should do the right thing by the Firm, and – do as was recently mooted in the media – step down in favour of Prince William who is more moderate. It would be in Prince Charles’ & the Firm’s interest to do this before he gets involve in a Robert Walpole type scandal.

  3. What is the actual point of these foreign royals?
For some reason Australia still tolerates the colonial stench of a foreign monarch, but in return they don’t seem to do anything for Australia, anywhere, ever. And when they do offer an opinion, their supporters complain.
What a crap deal. It’s time to back Australia. It’s time for a republic.

    1. A republic would give too much control to the Left politicians whose self serving dollar fever would put the country and its security at risk. The Queen’s (Monarchy’s) quiet influence as a background moderator, is not intrusive in normal circumstances, but provides a check & balance aginst those self servers getting too much control away from the will of the people.

  4. I have always thought that climate change action was associated with removing carbon. So if humans are responsible for generating carbon, maybe Charles is suggesting the Military could be used for depopulation. This makes more sense surely his father would of approved “Just Thinking”!

    1. From what I have heard of Prince Philip, he was not about depopulating the world but rather modernising the Monarchy from the starchiness of excessive self discipline which it sometimes slips into. Princess Diana went a long way to modernising that Monarchy, and her son William seems to have found the right balance for being king while Harry explores the boundaries.
