by SEAN BURKE – LABOR’S energy boss Matt Kean has no idea when power prices will stabilise – nor does he care.
The ex-NSW Liberal environment minister – and Left faction spin doctor – is using a green energy scam to fund the lifestyle of elite lobbyists while the nation suffers.
- This, despite a 40 per cent increase in residential electricity costs to Australian households while on his watch.
- He says transport and agriculture are now in his cross-hairs.
- “Nothing will stop renewables from being rolled out at scale.”
Almost immediately after losing his job at the 2023 NSW State election, Mr Kean allied with Chris Bowen and Anthony Albanese to continue his climate scam.
“It’s good to be part of a global effort,” Mr Kean said this week after attending COP 30 in Argentina.

“The rest of the world hasn’t waved the white flag [on climate change] just because the White House has,” he said.
“The world realises that this is what the science requires.”
Mr Kean said the economics of renewable energy were “compelling” compared to other power sources.
This is despite a 40 per cent increase in residential electricity costs to Australian households since he assumed his role as Labor’s Climate Change Authority chair in 2024.
He said transport and agriculture were now in the cross-hairs.
“It’s already happening in energy, it’s going to happen in transport … and nothing will stop that from being rolled out at scale.
“I’m incredibly excited about the prospect of Australia leading the world when it comes to de-carbonising the economy.
“We’re on the front line of climate change. We’re seeing the costs of renewable energy sinking like a stone, whether it be solar panels or wind turbines or batteries.
“And they’re only going to get cheaper.”
When asked by Sky News political editor Andrew Clennell when power prices would come down, Mr Kean said only the coordinated rollout of renewables would see energy price reductions.
Kean rejected claims by energy industry executives that power prices will continue to rise in Australia for at least another 10 years.
“That’s not what the Australian Energy Commission Market says,” Mr Kean said.
“They say to get on with the job of rolling out renewable and, quite frankly, we should be listening to the independent experts.
“Energy prices will reduce when we get on with the job of rolling out renewables at scale.
“It’s the cheapest form of electricity.”
After being asked how many years that would take by Andrew Clennell, Mr Kean responded: “Well, it will take the coordinated rollout.” PC

Matt Kean is a fraudster! He writes reports that the Government can cite as “independent” knowing they say what the Government wants to hear. Just one example: solar and wind generated electricity is cheaper than fossil fuel generated electricity. Literally true BUT the fossil-fueled generaters are already connected to the grid, so the power gets from where it’s generated to where it’s consumed at no extra cost. That’s why Dutton proposed to put nuclear-powered generators at existing power station locations. But Matt Kean sneakily ignores the fact that few solar or wind farms are connected to the grid. The infrastructure costs of doing so will have to be added to the total cost of renewable power, plus the cost of the batteries needed to smooth the load. Thus making the cost of energy from enewables MUCH greater than the cost of energy from already connected fossil fuelled generators!
