More green than Matt Kean on steroids

by SEAN BURKE – FORMER Prime Minister Tony Abbott has accused former NSW Treasurer Matt Kean of attempting to drag the Liberal Party even further Left.

He said Mr Kean was involved in a pre-selection stitch-up in his long-held seat of Hornsby on Sydney’s upper north shore.

Liberal Party insiders have described James Wallace as more green and more woke than Matt Kean – some even say he is “Kean on steroids”.

The fanatically woke and green Matt Kean is attempting to install his ideological soul mate, James Wallace, into the vacancy he created after departing the NSW parliament for a job as Labor’s climate tsar in Canberra.

“The idea Mr Kean can resign because it suits him and then deliver the pre-selection to his preferred candidate is pretty outrageous and shows how far the Party has slipped,” Mr Abbott said last week.

OUTSIDE

According to a recent report in The Australian newspaper, James Wallace lives outside the Hornsby electorate.

Liberal Party insiders have described Mr Wallace as more green and more woke than Matt Kean – some even say he is “Kean on steroids”.

Meanwhile, Matt Kean has described him as a “once in a generation political talent”.

Mr Abbot is, instead, endorsing former Hornsby Deputy Mayor Michael Hutchence, who he says has local credentials.

Mr Abbott’s comments come after Mr Kean quit NSW parliament in June – although he still has yet to formally resign – to become Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s Climate Change Authority head, a manoeuvre that has senior Liberals fuming.

“I’m really pleased Michael Hutchence is in the race so it doesn’t become yet another factional stitch up,” Mr Abbott said.

Mr Abbott said Mr Hutchence subscribed to Menzies’ “We Believe” Statement and would be aligned to the “Menzies-Howard tradition” in the State parliamentary Party.

Party insiders told The Australian it would likely be a straight shootout between Mr Wallace, who lives in the neighbouring Willoughby electorate, and Mr Hutchence, a Hornsby local.

DIRECTION

Other senior Liberal sources, according to The Australian, said Mr Abbott’s intervention showed “how strongly he must feel about it” and the preselection could become a “mini referendum” on the State division’s direction.

“The Party could be installing Kean 2.0 … and Wallace doesn’t hide that,” one source said of the candidate, saying he was of Mr Kean’s “green Liberal” mould and similarly cold on the Federal Party’s nuclear plans.PC

  1. It would seem it goes much deeper than this 🙁 It comes back to the people! The left following LNP are there because they were voted for 🙁 Has Dutton got the numbers to do a cleanout of what’s been left behind is the Question? Those who still would support an LNP Party should now as One shift to Clive, Ralph and UAP at the next election, or Pauline and One Nation for true conservative Values! As should Dutton as well instead of relying on old “Mates!” take them with him 🙂

  2. Don’t forget Gladys, the infiltration of wets since Turnbull in the party is overwhelming,it would appear hopefully they are gradually resigning & we might get our true Conservative party back.

  3. Why do monarchists want Australia’s head of state to be inferior to the UK’s head of state?

  4. Matt Kean was the biggest reason that for the first time in 59 years; I did not vote Liberal at the last erection :(( Now he has shown us his true allegiances, he should be immediately expelled from the party!
It would be a very stupid move to preselect is close lefty mate to the seat. It is about time the Liberal Party woke up to itself, and stopped becoming left of the Labor Party.

    1. He won’t be expelled because little Johnnie’s broad church nonsense prevails. In reality the LNP lack the guts to deal with quislings like kean, who is green through and through. Turnbull is another quisling who should be expelled. In fact apart from a dozen or so genuine conservatives the LNP is infested with globalist and grifters who support renewables.

Man made global warming is a failed idea and renewables are a nonsense but no LNP member will come out and actively oppose them. Dutton is doing the next best thing and advocating nuclear but soon Australia will still remain the biggest coal and gas exporter in the world while simultaneously banning their use in our economy: which is as good a definition of economic suicide as you’ll get.

  5. Kean is only “dragging the Libs further to the left” because no one of authority has the gonads to expel him from the party. Kean does not hold conservative values so what is the point in him being part of the party? ditto for Turnbull too. Whilst both of these attention seekers (in the same egotistical state as KRudd) are in the Liberal party they will continue to drag the party down.
