by SEAN BURKE – FORMER prime minister Tony Abbott has accused the Albanese Government of blindly backing the Voice proposal before knowing any of its basic details.
Mr Albanese has repeatedly claimed the Voice was a benign one-page statement – despite recent Freedom of Information releases confirming it is a much broader document outlining plans for a race-based treaty and financial reparations.

Mr Abbott said the Albanese Government had mislead voters by claiming the Voice was just “a nice gesture”.
“I think [Voice architect] Megan Davis was right when she said it was a very big document – 18 to 20-odd pages,” Mr Abbott told Sky News’ Peta Credlin late last week.

“And Ms Davis had been repeating that line until, it seems, she was leant on by the government over the past 24 hours or so.”
Mr Abbott suggested that many Labor MPs had never even read the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
“It’s very easy in a busy public life to miss the multitudinous documents that come out of government – and I suspect that until quite recently most people at the senior levels of the Albanese Government had never read all of the other documents associated with this whole Uluru process,” he said.
“It’s probably only now that they’ve suddenly woken up to exactly what they have endorsed.
“Because what they have endorsed, as is clear from all these associated documents including the full Uluru Statement, is so much more than just this nice advisory body.
“It’s a power grab unprecedented in Australia’s history. It’s a constitutional upheaval unprecedented in Australia’s history.”
Mr Abbott said the Voice was a first step in re-engineering Australia into a divided nation.
“It’s essentially saying that there is so much in our history that basically needs to be undone or at least atoned for.
“Hence the stress on treaty, which will inevitably involve reparations, and on so-called truth, which will inevitably involve re-writing the whole Australian story as one of shame.”
He said the Voice was wrong in principle and would be bad in practice.

“It injects race into our constitution, and that’s wrong, it entrenches the separatism which is at the heart of indigenous disadvantage, and that’s bad, and it would gum up our system of government more than it already is, and that’s bad.
“The extent to which the No campaign is succeeding is because it is focussed on the fundamentals.
“It’s not just about a voice, it’s about so much more than a voice – it’s about the power of under four per cent of the population to make an advantageous treaty with reparations with 100 per cent of the population – and to rewrite our history as a story of shame.
“I think the Australian public, once they know all that, are very, very, very wary of this Voice.”
While opinion polls indicate the proposed Voice referendum is struggling to attract support, Mr Abbott said dangers lay ahead.
“The big danger is that the Yes campaign has this massive war chest,” he said.
“There’s an avalanche of money that will pour into the air waves and onto social media as soon as the Prime Minister announces a date.
“Not only that, but there is going to be a tidal wave of moral intimidation, including by employers – such as the Victorian State Government as we saw the other day.
COMPLACENCY
“There is no room for complacency amongst those who actually think Australia is a good country with a history that, on balance, we can be proud of.
“That’s why I say that this whole exercise is a referendum on Australia.
“If you think Australia is pretty good, you should certainly vote No to any attempt to re-do the whole country on the basis that the last 240 years have been a story of persecution and racism.
“On balance, this is a country we can all be proud of and I want to us to go forward together as one equal people.”PC
And today on a Victorian radio station PM Albosleezy ADMITTED he hasn’t read the FULL Uluru Statement – only the cover page. Then he said “Why would I”. Can you believe this bloke – is he even more stupid than Blackout Bowen?
But this excuse for a PM stated many times implementation of the Uluru Statement in full.
He wore a shirt with the promotion – Voice+Treaty+Truth printed on it.
I suspect that his admission that he has not read the complete Uluru Statement of 26 pages is an excuse, embarrassed and/or in damage control after Peta Credlin obtained the full Statement via Freedom Of Information request application.
Earlier denying the objectives existed (hidden details earlier) and trying to focus voters attention on “recognition”. The Mayo video followed by the Reid video releases must have upset Albo, truth telling by Uluru and yes23 committee members. And thanking their “Communist Elders” for their advice.
He is tricky and untrustworthy.
The Aboriginal Industry must be investigated and where taxpayer’s monies are going audited and the reports made public. They are no different to the Renewables Industry wealth seekers at our expense.
