THE UN has scrapped its decision to reclassify Australia’s Great Barrier Reef as “in danger” after the true health of the natural wonder was revealed.
With climate nutters – including federal Environment Minister Sussan Ley – breathlessly sounding the doomsday siren, the international body last month considered downgrading the reef’s health status.
- Record coral cover means there was never a disaster on the reef.
- When will these stories about the death of the reef cease?
- It's time to stop scaring the children with doom stories!
Crippling rehabilitation costs coupled with an erosion of Australia’s national sovereignty – which would accompany the downgrade – however, have forced politicians to finally admit the reef is actually in “excellent” health.
NASTY
Ms Ley, along with Labor/Greens politicians and grant-grabbing scientists, had set the stage for the UN’s action with a constant stream of doomsday exaggerations. Also, too many politicians were frightened to speak up during a vindictive campaign to silence the truth about the reef’s real condition.
Almost every reef announcement uttered by Ms Ley has included the phrase “climate change threat”.
Even after the UN reversed the real threat, she continues to push global warming as though the science is unquestionably settled.
“This has never been about Australia hiding from the challenge facing the reef or the pressures of climate change,” she said after the UN’s backtrack. “It has been about ensuring a fair and transparent process.
“Crucially, tonight’s decision will allow the World Heritage Committee to develop a framework that ensures all properties at risk from climate change be treated in the same way.”
Despite harsh financial and national consequences, many scientists, celebrities and politicians continue to falsely depict the reef as dying.
This couldn’t be further from the truth.
GROWING
According to a report by the Australian Institute of Marine Science the amount of coral on the reef is at record high levels – and growing.
“Cancelled” marine expert Dr Peter Ridd has repeatedly stated that the reef “is in robust health”.
“Coral growth rates have, if anything, increased over the past 100 years and measurements of farm pesticides reaching the reef show levels so low they cannot be detected even with the most ultra-sensitive equipment,” he wrote in The Australian newspaper on Friday.
“This data is good news. It could hardly be better. But somehow, our science organisations have convinced the world that the reef is on its last legs.
“Record coral cover means there was no disaster on the reef. The only disaster is the quality assurance at the science organisations.
“When will these doom stories about the reef, which have been going for 50 years, cease?”
Dr Ridd said the Great Barrier Reef Marine Authority should step up and defend the truth.
“But so far it has not been interested. The various ministers could also take an interest,” he said.
“In the meantime, don’t forget we have record high levels of coral. It is time to stop scaring the children with doom stories.”
Dr Ridd, who has repeatedly and publicly pushed back against junk science, is currently fighting an unfair dismissal case against James Cook University in the High Court.PC
Really John?
How so, that the left are bullying you far-right misanthropes?
“How so, that the left are bullying you far-right misanthropes?”
Oh, my “misanthropes” – that’s a very big word for someone of left-wing persuasion. I mean, just look at all those precious puffed-up lefties in the media who think that they are *so* clever, but don’t know the difference between “raising a question” and “begging a question”, or between “uninterested” and “disinterested”, or between “careening” and “careering”. Yes, those same people who laughed to scorn Pauline Hanson because she didn’t know what a xenophobe is, and yet who themselves don’t know the difference between “there’s” for singular and “there’re” for plural, or between “invite” and “invitation”, or between “spend” and “expenditure”, or that they shouldn’t start sentences with conjunctions or end them with prepositions. (Apparently they have “degrees” in “communication”, but they skipped the part of their education where they were meant to go to primary school).
Please spare us your arrogance, wilful ignorance and mental confusion: keep your own counsel until you have something worthwhile to contribute.
Ha ha ha…
You far right haters, are just too unbelievable for words.
True to form, you just carry on with a lot of disingenuous claptrap, unhinged nonsense, and incoherent rants, that have no bearing to the conversation.
So confirmed, left wing bullying does not exist, because you couldn’t provide one example.
“Please spare us your arrogance, wilful ignorance and mental confusion: keep your own counsel until you have something worthwhile to contribute.”
Oh, the hypocrisy!
“[…] incoherent rants, that have no bearing to the conversation.”
You mean no bearing *on* the conversation, not “to” the conversation. You prove the truth of my contention that left-wingers are nothing if not affectedly ignorant individuals who, when attempting to show themselves as intelligent, invariably end up presenting as linguistically crippled. You really couldn’t make this stuff up.
“So confirmed, left wing bullying does not exist, because you couldn’t provide one example.”
Your confusion is showing again: you obviously don’t understand that you are being ignored. As for your desire to find examples of “left wing bullying”, you should try something that those of your ilk never do, and that is to educate yourself (you should ideally start with some reading, which I’m sure would be a most novel pursuit for you).
Just to be clear, and because I understand that left-wingers are never quick to understand what they’re told, I’ll repeat what I wrote earlier: keep your own counsel until you have something worthwhile to contribute.
True to form, the far-right, such as yourself, are just too stupid to realise you’re too stupid.
Put bluntly, you’re just proving my argument, and reinforcing what I have said earlier…
And yet, you’re totally oblivious of that fact.
No wonder, there are no intellectual speakers/writers on the far right.
You just don’t have the intellectual rigor to mount even a high school level debate.
“…I’ll repeat what I wrote earlier: keep your own counsel until you have something worthwhile to contribute.”
???
Yes, and PETER RIDD AND JENNIFER MOROHASY are the experts who can and must be trusted and believed.
They are not alone, but many of their colleagues feel intimidated, the leftists are bullies and deceivers.
