Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent clashed with Democrat Rep Maxine Waters on Tuesday during a hearing on the Trump Administration’s AI policies.
President Trump lashed out at Democrats this week in a series of Truth Social posts for perpetuating another ‘hoax’ – that AI is going to ‘take over and destroy the World.’
Trump said the AI hoax is just like the global warming hoax.
“The claim that “AI is going to take over the World” is a Hoax, just like Global “Warming,” where everyone was going to be dead by now, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, or Impeachment Hoax #1, or Impeachment Hoax #2. These are all Radical Left Dumocrats, who never give up, but seldom win. Hopefully, the Voters have seen the light!” Trump said Monday night.
Scott Bessent testified on Tuesday morning about the Trump Administration’s AI policy and Maxine Waters wouldn’t even let him speak.
88-year-old Maxine Waters is currently the top Democrat Rep on the House Financial Services Committee.
If the Democrats win back the House the 2026 midterms, Maxine Waters will become the Chairwoman of the Financial Services Committee.

Bessent touted the US bond market as Maxine Waters shouted him down.
“You keep talking I’ll keep reclaiming my time! If tariffs are not inflationary, why has inflation increased by 3%?” Maxine Waters said to Bessent.
“You’re not making sense! If you believe tariffs are inflationary,” Bessent said.
“Reclaiming my time! Reclaiming my time!” Maxine Waters repeatedly shouted at Scott Bessent,
