MEN in the Mirror, Sky News Australia’s excellent documentary by Chris Kenny on the awful similarities between those two prime ministerial disasters, Rudd and Turnbull, should be followed by one on the media’s role supporting their ascension and, in particular, the commentariat’s role in downing John Howard and Tony Abbott.
Whenever the commentariat is near-unanimous but the rank-and-file demur, always follow the rank-and-file. Just remember the 2019 Australian election. Then there was the 2020 presidential election, rigged as it obviously was with judges from the top down at best too frightened to hear the merits of the cases brought to them.
- Most of the mainstream media reports fiction as fact.
- Biden's agenda has even made neo-Marxists Bernie Sanders and AOC smile.
- Xi Jinping's nightmare is that Trump could well return.
It is clear that Democrat powerbrokers, led by far-Left Obama, chose the always pliable, one-time segregationist and now cognitively-deficient Joe Biden to do something that even made neo-Marxists Bernie Sanders and AOC smile; namely, to follow Venezuela down the sovietisation path.
And so it has come to pass.
The US is yet again energy-dependent, the currency undermined, the southern border opened up to often virus-infected illegals, vicious drug gangs, child molesters and above all, unlawful voters. Global-warmist dogma will again send manufacturing and no doubt IP to communist China. Compared with Great Helmsman II Xi Jinping’s billions, Jeff Bezos will seem a pauper.
APPEASER
Xi’s nightmare is that the only living president who had his measure and stood up to him, Donald Trump, could well come back. So if Xi is to succeed in enslaving Taiwan as he has Hong Kong, Biden’s term may be his last chance. The question remains, will Biden just follow the Obama-Biden administration as an appeaser, or will he be even worse?
Before examining that, recall that the considered position of most in the mainstream media and other elites, especially in America but also in Australia, was overwhelmingly “anyone but Trump”.
Do not forget that they were much the same, but not as hysterical, about Reagan and in Australia, Howard, Abbott, constitutional monarchists, Brexit and anyone not supporting global warming dogma to the letter.
The golden rule remains. If in doubt, ignore the elites, just apply Alan Jones’ pub test.
As to appeasers, they are universally condemned today.
But most politicians in the Thirties were appeasers, with our ALP also wanting disarmament. Although misguided, they were afraid of repeating the horror of the first world war and enjoyed widespread support.
INVADED
Unsurprisingly, when Chamberlain announced his 1938 mission to Munich, he received a standing ovation, with only Churchill and his closest colleagues remaining seated. Returning from Munich believing he had achieved “Peace in our time”, Chamberlain appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony before an enthusiastic crowd. But when Hitler took more of Czechoslovakia than agreed and then invaded Poland, Chamberlain finally declared war.
After Dunkirk, with Europe mostly occupied, Stalin now Hitler’s ally, an emerging Berlin-Rome-Tokyo Axis and America isolationist, Chamberlain and Halifax argued in the War Cabinet that the only answer was more appeasement.
The debate continued over what historian John Lukacs describes as the five most crucial days of the 20th century. Finally Churchill, with Labour’s Atlee and Greenwood, pushed through the decision to fight on, come what may.
They were encouraged by telegrams to Roosevelt from Australia’s Robert Menzies and South Africa’s Jan Smuts declaring that although alone, they too would continue fighting.
What is clear is that when faced with what is now the Beijing-Moscow-Tehran Axis, the Obama-Biden administration proved to be the greatest and indeed the most deceitful appeasers since both Munich and General Percival’s disgraceful 1942 surrender, against Churchill’s clear instructions, of the great fortress of Singapore.
What’s now in place in Washington and in the heart of the American elites is far worse than Chamberlain’s misplaced faith in Hitler’s word.
OUTRAGES
So many in the American establishment – industrial, political, academic, cultural, media, and sporting – are dazzled by the wealth that Beijing offers. Shamefully, they are prepared to line their pockets despite the human rights outrages from mass slave labour to live organ-harvesting.
This is worse than the mistaken appeasement Chamberlain practised. It is corruption and it is treachery.
Related directly to this is the FBI investigation of what the London Daily Mail claims it has verified as Hunter Biden’s laptop. This provides detailed evidence of a long-term Biden family enterprise wholesaling access and influence to the billionaire plutocrats of various powers, including Beijing.
In addition, The New York Post, Fox News and other sources have interviewed witnesses who have given strong and persuasive evidence corroborating this. But the mainstream and social media ensured that in the election most voters were unaware of this, just as they played down Biden’s threat as Vice President to block $1b in aid unless the Ukrainian President dismissed a prosecutor investigating a company in which his son was seriously financially involved.
Miranda Devine’s forthcoming book, The Laptop from Hell, will no doubt revive interest.
This investigation is by the same FBI which fabricated secret court applications for wiretaps on the Trump campaign about alleged Russian links in an investigation they knew was wholly based on a fabricated report commissioned for the election by Hillary Clinton.
Yet for years, most of the mainstream media reported this fiction as fact, even ridiculing Trump when he complained that he had been wiretapped while campaigning.
Just as in Australia there would have to be a royal commission, so in the US a Special Counsel of unquestionable standing should be appointed to investigate. That there is no demand for this from the media or Congress is testimony to an apparent decline of the US under Biden and Harris into banana republic status.
The question everyone should be asking, including allies like Australia, is obvious. Just what is Beijing’s influence in the Biden White House?PC
No sense in asking Lie’n Biden he wouldn’t know which way was up & has been seen on far to many occasions incapable of making a coherent sentence let alone formulating a rational & worthwhile Policy agenda for the betterment of his Country &/or its Allies?
His total reliance on unelected & unaccountable “advisors” is a recipe for a disaster previously unseen in US history and is witnessed by the extraordinary number of Presidential Decrees he has “chosen” to initiate/deliver, whilst sidelining the traditional Constitutional responsibilities of Congress? Roll on the results of the 2022 mid-term Elections where hopefully US voters will have both the ability for accessing fair & equal voting elections & a realisation of changing the policy direction of the road to no where that Biden & his Leftist ideological cohorts have inflicted on the Nation?
