Firebrand Teena McQueen dies after shock illness

by ROWEN DEAN – IT IS with deep sadness and shock that I learned of the passing away of Teena McQueen, former Federal Vice-President of the Liberal Party.

Teena recently moved to One Nation. She was an incredibly dear friend and a wonderful, larger-than-life woman full of passion.

No woman was more committed to bringing back the Australia-of-old we all love and miss.

She maintained a ferocious intellect and, above all, an extraordinary sense of humour.

No woman was more committed to bringing back the Australia-of-old we all love and miss.

PERFECTLY

And no woman so perfectly embodied the great Aussie larrikin character.

Among her many, many great achievements, she was, of course, the woman who brought together the original Outsiders show on Sky News when Trump – whom she adored – won in 2016.

Teena is irreplaceable in all our hearts. We never laughed so long!

Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott also sent his respects via X shortly after Teena’s passing:-

by TONY ABBOTT – WITH the passing of Teena McQueen, I have lost a good friend and the Liberal Party has lost a fine servant.

Teena was a long-standing branch activist on the NSW Central Coast, a delegate to Federal Council and, eventually, a Federal Vice-President of the Liberal Party.

At every level she was a consistent advocate for more internal Party democracy and for policy in the tradition of Menzies and Howard.

She sometimes put loyalty ahead of judgment, but it was typical of Teena’s large and generous spirit that she would confide in others her plans and then take guidance on their merits.

In recent weeks, her frustrations with the Party became public – but it was always the cause of better government for Australia that motivated her.

I will miss her as will her many friends.PC
